1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Circular Knitting Cowl on: December 06, 2009 05:05:07 PM
Oh boy! This was my first time using circular needles and it was tougher than I wanted it to be. All of the instruction guides aren't kidding when they say "don't twist your stitches". Because if you don't heed that warning you will have to start over three times.

Anyways, the pattern originates from here http://erica-knits.blogspot.com/2008/01/chunky-knit-cowl-pattern.html although I altered it to be a little shorter and added more stitches because I was using smaller needles.

I used Wool Ease Thick N' Quick

I love it!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dang you H&M with your cute prints... on: August 29, 2009 01:30:38 AM
Both of these shirts were purchased from H&M because they were super cheap and I loved the wolf print. But oh the fit was terrible. It was some kind of lolita babydoll inspired something that was too tight on top and way big on bottom. The other tank top was really large in the bust area and it ended up leaving me exposed. So I mixed...
and cute buttons!

To make:

Hooray! I used french seams because I know that the jersey will roll and grow weird after a while. I love it and I'm excited to have my wolf fabric become something that fits. Comments always welcome!

and yeah, the bathroom is not the cleanest. Maybe the next project?
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / From the fantastic tutorial... on: August 27, 2009 09:28:34 PM
When I met this tutorial: http://elily00.wordpress.com/tutorials/wallet/ I loved it. I've made two versions of it and this one being the second and therefore a little altered. Made out of yummy fabric from downtown LA:

An interior shot:

I altered the zipper portion because for the first wallet I made I couldn't end up happy with the top stitching and shape so I made it a lined top zipper pouch instead:

And oh boy, that top stitching that my machine just didn't want to do:

Overall I would say that it was a general success but her tutorial is phenomenal and super impressive! comments?
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ASL Shrinky Dink Necklace on: May 17, 2009 11:42:04 PM
This project was made on a whim and induced by the need for an 'art piece' type of jewelry. Credit to the "Gallaudet" font that provided the excellent tracing material necessary. Black Prismacolor markers on white Shrinky Dinks. It spells out "Home", since I'm living in LA and from MI. Le sigh. Unpredictable weather and lite beers.

Modeled by the beautiful Vincent!  Cheesy

(Sorry for the blurriness, these are actually stills from a Flip since I don't own a digi)
