1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: My So-Called Scarf-Along on: November 14, 2007 05:40:05 PM
I'm dying to see pics here!
I'm also itching to join in... but I have so much other crap to do. But a scarf is always a handy last-minute gift, right? It wouldn't be wasted time, right?

What yarn is that? The colors are beautiful!

Artyarns supermerino in colorway 105. I love it!  Grin

They are all so beautiful! I just started one a couple of days ago (my first) and have just finished the increase row section. I can't wait to get to the dropped stitches!
Here's where I am right now:

I finished this up last night. I don't have any action pics because I made it for my sister, who lives in DC. I have to send it to her and hopefully she'll take a couple of pics of it on her. We'll see.
Anyway, here are the deets:
Pattern: free from IK
Supplies: Debbie Bliss Cathay in colorway 09, circs in sizes 6 and 5, ribbon and beads
Here are a couple of blocking pics; the tunic was still slightly wet when these were taken:

I didn't make any mods to this pattern, except that I worked the front one side at a time rather than joining a new ball of yarn. I like this top so much I think I'll make one for me.

That is so gorgeous. A friend of mine just mentioned someone is expecting and I just might have to make one of those.
Great job!
How do you apply/attach the i-cord?
And I'm crazy jealous. I can't wait to get into ravelry!

These are really beautiful. Maybe I'll make one for myself. I look forward to seeing them finished!

Your tunic is lovely! And thanks for the tip -- I'm just finishing up the whipstitching on mine, so I'll pull the ends a bit before I weave them in.

I've finished the back and half of the front. Rather than join a new ball of yarn, I just did one side of the front at a time. So half of that is done. I had to pull it out and redo some of the whipstitching in the front -- I was watching TV instead of paying attention to what I was doing and my line of whipstitching started to slope downward. So, rather than obsess over that FOREVER, I just fixed it and am much happier with it although now I have more ends to weave in.
Tomorrow night is my SnB and I'm going to pick up some ribbon and beads and hopefully finish it in the next day or two.
I'll post pics when I take an updated one. I'm really pleased with it so far!
(And I LOVE the orange!)

I was excited to see that last night! I can't wait to start (but think I'll try to finish the summertime tunic first...)!
