1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Men's hoody into a fitted sweatshirt on: November 12, 2013 10:57:18 AM
I traveled a lot and bought this men's size small hoody in Amsterdam as a souvenir. It was so awkward, I never ever wore it....but I couldn't throw it away either.

I cut off the hood, the sleeve ends, picked out the stitching for the kangaroo pocket and cut it off along the side seams. Then I put a fitted long sleeve shirt over the inside-out hoody and pinned around the edges. I used a zig zag stitch from the bottom all the way to the end of the sleeves, stitching just inside my pin markings. I wanted it really fitted. I tried it on and then trimmed the excess. I folded the front of the hoody in half and cut out a wider neckline and zig zag stitched around that. The whole thing probably took me less than 20 minutes, but I spent a long time staring at it in the mirror and thinking, lol. Over all, I am stoked about my "new" shirt. This is why I never throw away clothes!

You can make furniture out of your leftover boxes!

The washer is adorable, I hope my son will  be as excited about washing clothes as yours is.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Noro Taiyo Tank Top on: June 30, 2010 08:38:25 PM
I designed this myself. I hope to be able to post a pattern on Rav soon, but I need to officially write the pattern and have it tested for errors. I love this tank top! It fits perfectly Smiley C&C welcome!

Very cute! People say cacti are easy to care for, but I've never had one survive..
5  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Fitted Knits-along ? on: November 08, 2009 07:43:22 PM
Here's my progress so far on the Short-Sleeved Cardigan with ribbing. I've had the FK book for over a year and a half and am FINALLY knitting something out of it. I'm knitting this in Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Bulky in Emerald. So far it's going really fast, something I need with a baby to take care of. I decided to forgo the yarn overs and do K1FB instead.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Rot-Aubergine Raglan on: November 04, 2009 11:54:25 AM
Cool I finished this late last night. I am very happy with the fit and the feel of the yarn. Not bad for 6 dollars! More details about it on my blog if you're interested!

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Felted Nesting Bowls in Heather - picture heavy :) on: September 17, 2009 04:20:16 PM
Thank you!

You use them for whatever you use a decorative bowl for - spare change, snacks, jewelry, craft stuff, etc. I use some of mine as a candle cosy when they're not burning.
