1  Re: 3-Hour Sweater Knitalong: dare we hope? in Knitalongs by Alyssa615 on: January 21, 2007 07:57:14 PM

Here's a (not so good) picture of what I've gotten done so far. Please ignore the funny face.

Here's a picture of the yoke and the missing sleeve. I don't know what happened to the bottom of the picture. It seems like the stitches are way too loose, but if I get yarn to finish the second sleeve, I might finish and let it grow on me and see what happens from there.

I'm not sure if I love this sweater. I like the pattern and everything, but I think I might do it in a diffrent color or something.

2  First completed project: Baby Blanket!! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Alyssa615 on: August 29, 2006 08:20:38 PM

This is my first post on the crochet boards! I made this baby blanket for my cousin who is having a baby girl in December.

I came up with the pattern, if that's what you want to call it, myself. I used Red Heart Baby Clouds. The colorway is called Tutti Frutti(now if I could only figure out how to connect the blanket with Little Richard...). I used an N sized hook. It is 30 inches by 30 inches excluding the fringe. I started with a chain of 50 stitches and I half-double crocheted until it was 30 inches. My other cousin(my pregnant cousin's sister), who is 6, likes to rub it against her cheek because"it's so soft!"

Looks great! Here's my sleeve that I finished today. I ran out of yarn the other day  Sad, but I got some more to finish! I started the other sleeve today but I needed a break!

Here are the fronts to my sweater!  Grin

That's what the color really looks like. No clue whats on my wrist. Huh

The shoulder shaping.

One of the sweater fronts outside. On a dirty table. Shows the real color.

Ohh, BeeSting, sounds great. I really like that color! I hope I didn't post too many pictures and slowed anyone's computer down!

I really like this pattern. Once I got started with the cable repeats, I couldn't stop. It's interesting enough that I haven't gotten bored, like I would have with just plain stockinette.

5  Re: Summer Stashbusting projects in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Alyssa615 on: June 26, 2006 02:13:38 PM
This is what I have been doing to keep busy:

I had a whole bunch of extra yarn that had no purpose and I was pretty bored so I started knitting about 6x6 inch squares. Some of them ended up being bigger but it is working out. I have been using 3 or 4(  Shocked) strands of worsted weight yarn and usually U.S. size 15 needles. Most of these yarns are random colors and it works, at least for me! You could try something like this or the patterns that rachelo posted. Good luck!

6  The PDQ! Modified by me a little in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by Alyssa615 on: March 21, 2006 06:36:16 PM
Here I is my PDq hat. I love it!

So there it is!  The light blue is Caron Simply Soft, the white is Lion Brand Jiffy and the darker blue is some merino wool I got over the internet a while ago. I ended up double stranding the Simply Soft and I used a L/11 sized hook. It's my first crochet project that I finished. IT was really easy
I ended up not doing the shell stitch because I didn't love it.And I added braided ties instead of the buttons because I didn't really love that either. You can kinda see the ties in the last picture(of me being silly).  I can post some more close ups if you guys would like!
