143  My one eyed, no eared, no tailed puppy *or seal* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tattooedcrafter on: October 04, 2007 04:36:51 PM
I made this puppy for my son using a pattern I found on the tutorial list on here but my son got it before i could put the ears and tail on it and he ripped the eye off but he loves it.
*My husband decided last night that it looks more like a seal so now we have no idea what to call it.

I know it doesn't look all that great but my 18 month old son is really happy with my work.

145  friendly flowers in CHALLENGE 20 ENTRIES by tattooedcrafter on: August 03, 2007 08:49:14 AM
I originally made a smaller black bag and embroidered the flower onto it but while putting it together my sewing machine freaked out again and ripped a big hole in it so I dug out some extra fabric from making a kilt for my husband about a year ago. This is what I ended up with and I really like it.

This is a red and maroon rose on my plaid bag.

this is the other side, I'm a colorful person so I thought a bunch of really colorful and basic flower would be cool

I have used this bag for shopping, it will hold a gallon of milk and some other smaller items. There is no lining because I didn't like th way it looked in this bag and I left the outside edges unfinished because this fabric looks really neat when it frays a little so I just added a zigzag stitch around the edge so it doesn't fray too much.
I'm hoping to make a whole bunch more shopping bags in the near future since this on was such a success.

146  My first teddys in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tattooedcrafter on: June 22, 2007 09:36:56 PM
I've never made a stuffed animal before other then crocheting an elephant for my dad and then this week I get really adventurous and decided to make 4 teddy bears. Now I have a family of them. The gray and black ones are made of a pair of gray sweatpants I never liked and a black seatshirt I never liked either and the green one is made of scraps of fabric left over from curtains I made for my aunt. the eyes and noses are buttons from my mother-in-laws, mothers button collection, so I didn't have to buy anything. The gray one is my sons, the black ones are for my brother and sister and the green one is being sent off to my aunt.

group picture

the gray one - scrappy

the twins - hip and pip

the green one - Fred - he has a bow because I really messed up his neck.

One big happy Family

I know the pictures are dark but they were taken at night and my cameras flash didn't want to work.

Comments are very welcome

147  Felt Faux Book Pillow in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tattooedcrafter on: June 19, 2007 10:10:15 AM
I had some left over felt pieces after making a pin cushion and my son loved the feel of the felt so I thought I'd make a pillow for him and my husband and I are book worms so a book pillow it was.

If raindrops were kisses I'd send you a shower
