21  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / From beginner to tile master! on: September 05, 2007 07:09:44 PM
We bought our house back in June, and I've been slowly remodeling while my husband is deployed.  I bought tile and it sat and sat until shesxautomatic's post inspired me to get my floor done NOW.

So this is what I started with.

I had ripped a bar out the day we closed on the house, and this is the mess I was left with.

So after a lot of sweat, sore knees, and mastering the tile saw (yay, me), here's the finished product.

There are still a few things to be done in the kitchen, but I've come a LONG way!  Never underestimate a determined woman!  Cheesy
22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My return! on: September 01, 2007 10:31:03 PM
I'm celebrating my return to ATCing with this card's own post.  I missed it so much!  Anyway, here's my first non-swap one in forever.

Forever Inked
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Clemson dish cloth on: May 23, 2007 06:41:02 AM
I'm making a few of these as a thank you to a friend of mine.  She's a HUGE Clemson fan, and I *finally* tracked down orange cotton yarn.

24  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / From gross lamp to cool and beachy! on: May 10, 2007 01:04:40 PM
I picked up this nasty thing at a thrift store for $3.  The socket was broken, the wiring was frayed, and it was filthy.

I saw its potential, got a new wiring kit, cleaned it up, slapped some paint onto the base, and filled it with some of my seashells.  I still need a shade for it, but I'm groovin' it.

25  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / The Bead Goes On on: April 20, 2007 07:38:17 PM
Man, those are some TINY needles for this one!  I just finished this one tonight for my oldest daughter.  Sorry for the dark pic!  I tried to lighten it, but the detail goes away when I do.

26  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Dashing from Knitty on: April 19, 2007 10:00:06 AM
The left one, anyway!  I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease.  While I do like it, I'm not sure that I love it enough to make the right one anytime soon.  Eventually, warm temps will stick around, so I think I have plenty of time to get back to it before it's really needed.

27  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cute little bag on: April 11, 2007 08:00:19 PM
I made this purse for my oldest daughter.  Finished measurements are 6x9x2.5 inches.  I had to tweak the pattern I used and add things, so it took a few frogs to get it right.

28  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / "Personal" pouch on: April 09, 2007 12:55:19 PM
I made this for my youngest daughter (12yo).  She doesn't carry a purse, so this is the best option I could come up with for "that time" necessities.  It measures 3 1/2"x5 1/2", and is lined.  I cross-stitched the monkey and stitched it on before putting the pouch together.  I can't wait for her to see it!  She LOVES monkeys, green is her favorite color.

29  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / It's a penguin! on: April 07, 2007 08:28:33 PM
I couldn't decide whether to post this here or in the toys/playthings section.  It's my first attempt at anything like this.  There are mistakes, but I'm pleased with it anyway (especially considering I'm totally self-taught).

I used the pattern from  Knitty.

30  UNITED STATES / South Carolina / Headed to Beaufort next week on: March 28, 2007 05:19:28 AM
Going home to visit friends for a few days.  Are there any craftsters still there?  LMK, and maybe we can get together while I'm down.
