2  Re: Shape, Color and Texture Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jeneration pink on: August 04, 2008 06:57:21 PM
Okay so pictures as promised of my fabulous shape, color, and texture swap haul from Annchen,

First my color was hot pink
and she created this super neat pin cushion which came with a lil pushpins decorated with lil birdies, I love birds

here are thumbnail size pics of the lil bird pins click to get a better look at them

My shape was a circle
and Annchen came up with the neatest concept for it, She created a lil mix media piece, with more birdies. The birdies I believe she sculpted out of paper clay and then the little circle of the bird's life is created with melted beads. The circle simulates the different stages of a birds like, the egg is on the nest. the baby bird is on the tree branch, and then the adult bird is flying with his blue wings

here are some clickable thumbnails of detail shots

My texture was soft and she knitted me this really pretty and soft, lil gift cozy which can double as a hand cloth and inside it was pretty smelling lavender satchet

and finally she included this neato postcard from Sweden, which has a huge mosquito on it, the funny thing is right now we are fighting swarms of them, well not really swarms

This was my first swap and I couldnt have asked for a better experience, thank you so much Annchen and Homer for organizing this....i only hope that Annchen recieves hers soon, the anticipation is driving me nuts

SO this is my first clay stamp, it is a bird...they havent been fired yet. Now do you all think these would make better magnets or should I cut the negative space around the bird and make pendants? I will be glazing these as well and painting them pretty fun colors. Thanks in advance for your help,
xoxo jen

Hey everybody,
So I have begun glazing my dog pots, these two pictured below have not been fired yet...actually they are in the kiln right now....I just hope they come out nice....those of you familiar with ceramics know what kind of crapshoot it can be when glazing pieces. Either way I wanted to share them with you as they continue going through the process, I will post a final shot of all of them....I hope the pic isnt too big,
take care xoxox
