21  Purple Octopus Amigurumi in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by yelutci on: May 08, 2008 10:02:33 AM
I made Cindy the Cephalopod for a swap-bot swapI think she's so cute & hated to send her away! An easy project but the 8 legs get a little tedious, so it took me a while to finish.
I didn't exactly follow the pattern but here it is:

22  Re: Design Your Own Bag--along! in Knitalongs by yelutci on: January 23, 2007 02:07:15 PM
I just found this thread, your bags are all lovely!-I don't know if this counts my design since the the owl cable is based on a hat pattern I found at http://ruthieknits.com/owlhathtm

I found the perfect lining fabric in the scrap bin at Joann's & it was an additional 75% off!

23  Noro hat w/ rib-knit brim in Crochet: Completed Projects by yelutci on: January 23, 2007 09:15:45 AM
I had to try out this yarn after seeing it in so many great projects. I love the colors but it is a bit rough. Just a basic crocheted hat but I picked up stitches towards the end,on circular needles, to knit a ribbed brim (as I was getting to the end of the ball & didn't want to run out). I used a crocheted bind off & then added rows until I ran out of yarn 3 I think.

Modeled by my son.
Has anyone seen any knit/crochet hybrid patterns for hats? I like aspects of both crafts, but I'm still a novice knitter.

24  Owl Cable Bag in Knitting: Completed Projects by yelutci on: January 23, 2007 09:01:34 AM
This is based on a hat pattern I found on the web http://www.ruthieknits.com/owlhat.htm
(-but being a new knitter I have gauge issues and a lack of DPN's that have been thwarting my hat efforts)
I'm still looking for the perfect owl pin/brooch but the little heart works for now.

I found a lovely little cream on white floral print fabric for the lining and added a pocket for my phone, too.

Comments appreciated.

I know this hat has been done to death but these colors were already in my stash so... here's my crocheted version of the Jayne hat. It's just Hdc in the BLO I made a long rectanlgle sewed into a tube, gathered the top & added the pom-pom & earflaps.Just RedHeartSS w/2 strands held together. It's mighty warm.

26  Purse from thrift store yarn in Crochet: Completed Projects by yelutci on: October 25, 2006 11:24:56 AM
Who says you can't make a silk purse from a sows ear?
I found the yarn & buttons at various thrift stores, and just sort of made it up as I went along.

I'd appreciate any comments-but please be kind as this IS my 1st post since coming out of lurkdom.
I also made a sweater for my dog with some thrift store yarn.
and a smaller version for my BIL's Chi modeled by the nearest like-sized item.http://photobucket.com/albums/h126/yelutci/th_IMG_2733.jpg
