1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: felted kneedlecase from Borroco? on: October 28, 2006 08:14:38 AM
I like that.  I don't really have time to start another project but I do have some ugly handdyed worsted weight wool that didn't make it into my shop so a flat boring project might be just the ticket.  Then I won't feel so bad that it's just sitting around looking ugly.
It would be fun in stripes to with the cable black.  Maybe a little gift for a knitting friend.

This pattern leaves a lot open for color play don't you think?

Not sure what you mean by 8's but I suppose you could make I-cord with a shorter circular needle.  Kind of a pain but possible since it does have two points.  I would probably get the size 13 DPN's or use 15's or 11's in DPN for the I-cord if that's what you have.  Most of the felted knits patterns I've seen call for size 13's so you'll probably use them again sometime if you do any other felted knits.  I just got some cheap Lion Brand ones at the craft store.  They're plastic and actually kinda pretty.

I'm using a 16" Clover bamboo circular needle but straights would work.  I think DPN's might be a tiny bit short.  You WILL need the DPN's for the attached I-cord that happens at the very end of the pattern.
Hope that helps.

I'm knitting mine with a double strand of Cascade 220 on size 13 needles.  Be sure you pick up a tiny crochet hook that will fit through the hole in your beads since the beads are added as you knit.
I love all the extra instructions for the methods used in the pattern that are included in this pattern.  It will be a great resource.

I'm on my way now to go buy some Cascade 220 so I can get started on my pair.  I know.  Boring choice.  But I know Cascade 220 won't be itchy so that's my plan and I'm sticking to it.  I'll post pics of the colors I choose over at www.curiouslycleverclogs.blogspot.com later.  Might be a lot later since from now until almost bedtime the kiddos have stuff for which I gotta play taxi mom.
Knit on!

The pattern is finally available!  Yea!  I saw this a couple weeks ago and am so wanting these slippers!  Now that I'm looking at the pattern I'm thinking there's some fiddly things I may need help working through with a buddy or two.  Anyone want to KAL with me?
Here's where to find the pattern: http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-029
