Ok, I'm going to post both my April and May in the same post, because I managed to make both of them today!

First, for April, I made a pair of drop earrings:

And for May, I made a set of stitch markers:

Hope you like them!

Here is my March project!

It's made from a kit I've had for nearly a year now - I finally had the perfect opportunity to make it up!

Ok, so I've made one red project, but I'm not 100% happy with it (yarn wasn't the greatest choice - but hey - it was scraps from my stash!).

Here is my project, a red heart ornament:

I love everyones rainbow projects so far - but I have to wonder if I'm the only one who's antsy to get on to red?? I even have my red project picked out!

ETA: I *DID* finish my second sock (over a week now - oops) - here's a pic of them together!

Ok, so I'm going to be a bit of a bad monkey and post what I have done - even if it's only 50% done the entire project! But hey - they're socks!

I had this yarn sitting in my stash since January of last year (I had bought it for the '07 craft-along, but it didn't work out), and had been sitting and wondering what the heck to do with it (not quite my style). Then, BINGO! This project actually knocks out 4 objectives!

"How 4?" you ask?

1- I used yarn from my stash (that I had no clue what to do with!)
2- Obviously, a project for this craft-along
3- My daughter has been constantly asking for me to knit something for her, so now I have (and I can't tell you just how happy she is!)
4- I made a 2008 Goal to knit at least one pair of socks a month - and here is my January pair taken care of!

Without further ado, I present Rainbow Feet (well, foot, but there'll eventually be 2 of them - hopefully by the end of the weekend!):

Isn't it neat how the colours spiral around the leg? I really hope I can get them to do the same on the second sock! Now, I personally, wouldn't likely wear these - but my daughter LOVES them!

Let me know what you think!

6  Re: Christmas in July in Knitalongs by greenapples on: December 03, 2007 06:48:20 AM
Procrastination is a major weakness of mine, and as a result, at least one of my projects won't be finished in time (my sister - the recipient, has been notified, and says she doesn't mind at all - thank goodness!)

I have finished:

-A Tuscany Shawl for my MIL

-A Counterpoint Scarf for Hubby's Aunt

-Socks for my Dad (well, they're almost done - just the toe of the second sock left to finish)

I still have to finish:

-A Tuscany Shawl for Hubby's Gramma (hoping this one zooms along as fast if not faster than the first one)

-Socks for hubby (only one sock left to go - these may end up being late as well as next week is Hubby's last week of work before the holidays and I can't work on them with him around Sad)

- A toque for FIL (doing this on the 7hr car ride to see Hubby's family)

-Cabled Blanket & Pillow for my sister (the one that will be late)

7  Re: What are you making for Christmas this year? in Winter Holidays by greenapples on: November 30, 2007 07:15:55 PM
Another Update:

Mom: Beaded Photo Bracelet (Need to print out photos)

MIL: Tuscany Shawl from NSFY Done!

Sister: Knit Blanket + Pillow (Started & Stalled - don't think the blanket will be done in time)

Gramma: Tuscany (yarn that I ordered for the vest didn't work out, so I'm going with this instead - Started)

Aunt: Counterpoint Scarf from MagKnits (done!)

SIL&BIL: ornaments Done!

SIL2: Beaded Photo Bracelet (need to buy purple or pink replacement beads, print out photos and get wrist measurement)

Dad: One pair of socks, and an IOU for a second pair (90% done! Should be finished by mid-day tomorrow!)

All sets/singles of grandparents/parents: Hand print ornaments from my son, and possibly from my daughter as well (need to find clay somewhere - seriously - when did this get to be such a hard item to find?! Doing to have to go to the art supply store downtown - they'll HAVE to have some)

Son: Stroller sized Taggy blanket (Done!) and a small-ish matching taggy blanket, but crinkly in the middle (ribbon is cut, need to locate cello wrap *in the closet somewhere* and the rest of the red flannel *in a bin in the storage locker*)

Hubby:Socks (One sock done)

Here's a pic of the blanket for anyone who's interested (the red is flannel, and the paw print is polar fleece) :

Both are knit. The scarf is illusion knitting - from the top, it just looks like thin black and white stripes, but when viewed at a certain angle - piano keys! It's a Christmas gift for one of my hubby's aunts who is both a music professor and a masters student.

Here's the only view from the top I took before I wrapped it (I'm kind of anal about wrapping things as soon as I have them/finish making them):

I didn't finish my October project in time either  Undecided - BUT I have finished my November project!

Here's a sneak-peak at my October project:

(it's MUCH further along than what's shown here - I swear!)

And here is my November project:

Trust me, there is more black than white!

10  Help Choosing a Pattern in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by greenapples on: October 30, 2007 06:28:55 PM
Long story short, I bought some yarn for a Christmas project, the colour isn't going to work, so now I get to use it all for myself  Wink

Here is the yarn is question:

Should it become
a) a Lucy in the Sky Cardigan (http://www.cosmicpluto.com/blog/?p=572
b) Central Park Hoodie (http://www.knitscene.com/photos/2006/project13.asp
c) Something Red (long sleeved version) (http://knitandtonic.typepad.com/knitandtonic/2006/02/if_someone_aske.html)
d) Something Red (3/4 Sleeve Version)

Your help in deciding is greatly appreciated!
