1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Female Ninja Costume on: September 23, 2008 08:17:36 PM
Alright, usually i come up with a great idea for a costume for myself. But I am stuck this year!!!! I can't decide what to be. I thought a girl ninja might be kinda cool. Well in looking for some type of pattern to work off of I had no luck. does anyone know of any ninja patterns around (that aren't too cheesy?)

I drew out an idea for the costume and thought maybe I can make my own pattern.....yah right.....

A vest like thing...

This could go on the back...

A dress version
I'd like it to be kind of form fitting. Any ideas or suggestions on how it should look would be wonderful!!!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / design on material getting in the way on: November 10, 2007 01:56:46 PM

I did a quick search for this but was not sure what it would be called. I am in the process of making a dress, a simple A line dress. The material I have is kind of odd (but my friend who i am aking the dress for likes it), it has flowers on the pattern and at the bottom of the pattern it has like a line of houses....I want the line of houses at the bottom of the dress but when I put the pattern on it to cut it the bottom of the skirt curves up and will cut off the line of houses. How do I make it so the line of houses sits at the bottom of the dress all the way around. But at the same time keep the pattern on the fold

Wow! It sounded simpler in my head. I hope this makes sense.

Mayber this picture will help....
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Female superhero ideas please on: October 14, 2007 08:35:32 AM
So I think I want to be a superhero for halloween....(yah...i have not figured out what I am doing for halloween!!) I am having the hardest time coming up with something this year. I am not super skinny to pull off some of the tight female super hero outfits but I am not big (I am a 10). Any ideas of who I should be?

Not wonder woman please....  Tongue

Maybe I will just go as Kuchiki Rukia from Bleach (the anime)
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Pretty in Pink on: September 22, 2007 12:24:46 PM
So for the past two years my costumes have been pink (didn't do it on purpose). Two years ago i was deb from napoleon D. and last year I was Toadette. I have no idea what to be this year and I am racking my brain to think of something creative. But I DON'T know!! I was thinking maybe if I narrow it down to something in pink... but i still have not thought of anything. Any ideas?

Here are the pictures =) Hope you enjoy

My luigi did not get completed because i could not find overalls to fit my very tall husband. hehe

5  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Stencils for etching question... on: August 26, 2007 07:10:14 PM

I have done a few projects using armor etch on some glasses and have had pretty good turn outs. I Recently did a glass and the cream seeped through the contact paper i used to make my stencil. What is the best type of adhesive paper to use for stencils. And where can I find whatever it is.

Thanks for you help!

( I am doing toasting glasses for a wedding next weekend and need ideas cuz my first one got messed up.)

7  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / My first etched glass on: May 19, 2007 10:55:33 PM
I was inspired by the tutorial for etching glass...

I am going to be doing my best friends wedding toasting glasses and need some practice before doing the real thing. So just for fun I made this one with her and his initials on it. Its simple and sweet. Not as good as I would have like it to turn out, but hey its my first time...

What do you think?

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / retirement party on: March 17, 2007 10:01:24 PM
So Myself and two others who work at an elementary school have to throw a party  thing for all the retirees....There are about 5-6 of them this year. I have NO clue what to do for them...also we must think of some kind of gift to give them or a way that everyone can give gifts(maybe theme related). I don't even know where to begin...help please =)
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Retiree's on: November 20, 2006 06:00:43 PM
So...I have to think of gifts to give the retiring teachers at our school by the end of the school year...june 7th....(i am on the courtesy committee which means its my responsibility to figure out what the staff will do for the teachers who are retiring)

There are about four of them that I know of and we don't have a whole lot of money. Plus I don't really know what these people like.

So the only thing i could think of was to tell the staff to buy stuff and we would stick it in big baskets or something and give them that.

Any ideas?? Smiley
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / cookie exchange on: November 18, 2006 07:21:56 PM
So I want to do this cookie exchange thing with some good friends for the holidays...I have never done one before though I all I know is that each person brings different homemade types of cookies with the recipe to share....But what else could we do besides eat other food and just hang out. Has anyone ever done one before?

any suggestions are welcome..Thanks
