3  Round-and-Round Headband (pretty pics!) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Solitarya on: January 21, 2008 06:15:51 PM
Ta-Dah! My new creation... Some sort of Simply Soft in a fuschia-purple mix and purple scrap yarn.
I'm happy with it Grin

now for pics! (there's not a pic of the whole thing laid out, but you get the idea, I think...)

Giving the Evil Eye (teehee)

Close-Up of stitch+colors

Close Up #2

It's made up of 8 circles and ties in the back. A very simple, yet very rewarding project. Seems like headbands is my thing!!!

4  Mohair Flapper Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by Solitarya on: August 10, 2007 11:21:04 PM
The first time EVER I make a hat that looks and feels this good! The pattern was from Candi Jensen's Hooked on Crochet ( Mohair Flapper Hat) I used Patons Divine in Regal Red (acrylic/mohair/polyester) and a J hook instead of the suggested yarn/hook, and I haven't made the flower 'cause I'm lazy.

P.S- Pardon the pic, it was taken with a cell phone in bad light...

5  Queen of Bad Hair Days Tiara in CHALLENGE 19 ENTRIES by Solitarya on: July 03, 2007 10:36:01 AM
well! I decided to try out the challenge... I had a bunch of old perm rollers my grandma had given me, so I kinda sculpted a frame with silver wire and "artistically" arranged the rollers on it. I also added a hair stick, a jeweled butterfly clip ( what's a tiara without jewels?) and some other pins. I called it "Bad Hair Day" because... That's what my days are usually like :-D

hope you like it!!!

7  Pretty Pillowcase into Pretty top!!!!! (modified for "tutorial") in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Solitarya on: June 21, 2007 02:37:01 PM
A friend of mine gave me some really cool pillowcases the other day, I instantly wanted to make something out of them. Problem is, being a plus-sized girl, I was past the idea of just keeping the sides sewn and doing something to the tops and bottoms. So I cut them all up, made a skirt part out of 4 panels ( 1 small, 2 medium, 1 large), the bodice is 4 parts as well ( back part I did elastic ruching) and some lace for trim and straps. The hem is just iron-on hem tape, I was being lazy. I'll probably run it through the machine though... on to the pics!!!

Crappy detail of ruching and straps/fabric

I hope you like it!!!! I am wearing it right now... super comfy!!!
thank you for looking

*****EDIT= Here's a rough draft of tutorial, some guidelines for you to follow****

and the link just in case it doesn't show up well:

8  Fern Gully Headband (pretty pics!!!) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Solitarya on: May 23, 2007 01:21:58 AM
I did it!!! It's 4 a.m and  I started crocheting about an hour ago, on a whim... I wanted something girly, flowery, classy, different, and so this was born:

i used different colors of scrap WW yarn, some multi-colored wool, lion suede for the band and polyester threaded with sequins for accents on the leaves. Pearly and multi-colored buttons....

so, any comments?

10  Re: Pictures of craft fair setup - Please post! in Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs by Solitarya on: May 12, 2007 04:35:24 PM
This was my table at a local flea market earlier today.
*rant*- everything was going fine until some guy with mass-produced glycerin soaps ( the bad, cheap kind) set himself up next to me and sold his soaps four for $1. UGH. Other than that I really liked how it turned out, it was my first time selling by myself so I think I did good!

my lovely assistant  Smiley

I displayed my soaps in melted bead bowls

colorful, eh?
