1  Re: My first hat! First topic post! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Born2bWild on: December 04, 2009 05:51:41 AM
I made it. I think it's too big though so I'm going to frog it and start over after I finish a hat for my daughter Tongue

2  My version of the Pretty Puff Slouchy Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by Born2bWild on: January 08, 2008 01:18:15 PM
Posted by ArrghMatey here. I finally got over my way too tight tension and finished this hat. This time I used Bernat Softee Chunky and an N hook.

Oh yeah, I hadn't finished my slip stitch row when I took the pics, but it's all done now. And I also added two more rows of the puff sticth. Is it too much? Thanks for looking!

3  Re: Pretty Puff Slouchy Hat UPDATE: Pattern added in Crochet: Completed Projects by Born2bWild on: December 03, 2007 06:35:39 PM
I made this hat with Caron's Simply soft yarn and a K hook. I realized about half way through that it was too small but I thought that maybe it would still fit my two year old. It doesn't, but it does however fit my fist. I'm fairly new to crocheting so I didn't realize that the size of the circle would be the size of the hat and I also think I have VERY tight tension. I've got the size my circle needs to be figured out so I'm going to try again with an N hook and chunkier yarn. Here's my first try...

4  Annmarie from Abercrombie and Fitch in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Born2bWild on: November 03, 2007 08:12:54 AM
I really like these empire waist cardigans. I've looked through Knitty and at some patterns on Dreamweavers.com but maybe it's in a book somewhere that I haven't seen. Anyone know of a pattern similar to this?

And here's the link to all of Abercrombies Winter 2007 sweaters, because I love them all! Click here

Thank in advance!

5  First handspun in Spinning: Completed Projects by Born2bWild on: October 16, 2007 10:36:52 AM
So I've been wanting to try spinning for months now. I've been doing tons of research and since I'm so unbelievably cheap I made my own spindles from cut dowels, screw in hooks, and toy wheels I purchased from a place that sells bird toys online. I've made 3 spindles but I only like the way one spins. So here's my first skein...

These are my three balls because I had a little mishap while I was setting the twist and my yarn broke while I untangled it. I decided to tie them back together though

It's merino super wash wool that I got from Madelinetosh on Etsy  I think my skein came out to about 60-65 yds and I'm thinking about buying some pretty thread to ply with it.

Not sure what I'm going to do with this though, I obviously need to keep practicing. Thanks for looking!

6  Re: The Pringles Can Fill-Er-Up Challenge 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Born2bWild on: February 14, 2007 02:46:59 PM
Received form Trinnie_doo on Saturday. She sent a lot of cute, awesome stuff that I could really use, including...

This awesome crochet hook roll AND some hooks!

Everything I need to start embroidering including a how to guide... I just realized I forgot to take pics of the pillow cases see sent as my first project.... I'll add it in later.

Also some cute sewing notions. Measuring tape, I think it's modge podge... is it Trinnie? A leopard print pincushion, I actually attempted this as my very first sewing project the day after Christmas, I failed miserably and haven't attempted on since. and an embroidery needle, which should have been with the last pic... doh!

Saucy Suzy iron on transfers... I'm already thinking about how cute these would be on wallets and little pouches.

And here's a pic of the pin up girls can!

trinnie_doo, thank you so much!

7  Re: Pumpkins! Please share your Jack O Lanterns in Halloween Decor and Parties by Born2bWild on: October 29, 2006 10:52:24 AM
This is my first time ever craving a pumpkin and I think I did a pretty good job. Next time I'll move the pattern up higher and maybe try something a bit more difficult.
