21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Condom Rose -with tutorial on: May 05, 2005 04:28:31 PM
so i discovered these roses at a spencers store with some of my friends.. we were thinking.. "wouldnt that be somethign great we could get our significant others.. somthing that will make them scratch their heads.. and think... wow i never would have thopught my girlfriend would make such a thing"
we didnt want to spend the money on buying them.. since they looked quite simple to make..

so we found red condoms.. thats the hardest part...

and heres our creation.

and heres a tutorial..

first you need all the necessary materials..
~condoms.. red if you like red roses.. but any color would really do.. use your favorite colors.. or whatever kind you have lieing around...  i think i like the lifestyles ones better because the wrappers are plastic.. and therefore more pliable.. but trojan ones work too.. and im sure any other breand as well...
~wire.. or stick or anything really to make the stem.. wire woukds best in my opinior cause its bendy and such..
~tape..  masking tape is what i used first..  but as you can see in the pictuers i didnt have any.. so i substitued with duct tape.. and it seemed to work well
~floral tape.. that green sticky/gummy tape that will be in the floral section of your local craft store.. im sure if you had regular tapoe that was green.. green duct tape maybe.. then thatd work too..
~optional.. fake leaves.. can be found in floral section of craft stroe.. or wal-mart sometimes.. you dont need them.. but they do add some character to the rose...

1.   make your wire green.. either with floral tape or green duct tape.. whatever works..

2.  fold the condom in half on a diaganal

3.  attach condom to the end of the wire.. with your tape.. as in your sticky tape..

4.  then repeat with two more condoms..

5. wrap the ugly masking tape or duct tape with the floral tape.  floral tape isnt exactly "sticky"  you wrap it around and press as you go.. stetching it a bit and just sorta squeezing it as you go.. it just sticks to itself..

pardon the blurriness of the pictures.. its a combination of my bad photography skills and dieing batteries...
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / old ladyish sweater to ..well something better perhaps on: May 02, 2005 03:14:17 AM
i loved this sweater.. but it just was sorta too big... and just not really flattering or anything.. ..and i had this big box of different colored zippers.. so i came up with this..

23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my legs were cold... so i made them warm on: May 01, 2005 12:55:31 AM
legwarmers.. okay its been done.. but i was making a skirt and had the sleeves.. so i made these.. but they were plain so i added a bow.. although i think black lace would be cool too...

24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / dorm christmas tree.. on: April 30, 2005 08:13:24 PM
yeah so its april.. but heres a picture of the christmas tree i made for school this year...
we aren't allowed real ones.. unless their under 1 1/2 ft tall. and we arent allowed the fake ones you buy either.. some sort of fire hazard...  so i went through all my crafty materials.. which wasnt much.. being in a itty bitty room with 3 other girls.. but this is what i came up with..

25  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Record shelf on: April 08, 2005 11:57:56 PM
well this record was being annoying.. but i managed to make into something.. i tought of using it to hold a picture frame.. but instead have it hanging next to my door to hold my keys

i had to use two tacks.. one in the center hold and one at the top edge to make it sturdier
26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / for a theater major on: February 21, 2005 01:21:35 PM
My boyfriends birthday is coming up and i bought him tickets for the two of us to see the producers on broadway..   hes a theater major (in his senior year) and has dreams of being on broadway yet has never seen a show there...
well anyways.  i already gave him the tickets and i wanted to make something to give to him on his actual birthday.. so maybe something theater themed or such?   hes in musical theater .. music  and singing is another big part of his life..
