1971  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2011 DeStash-Along on: April 04, 2011 04:23:36 PM

The autumn leaves and the clouds are about 38 inches by 45, the black with the orange stars is about 43 by 81.
If they were scraps, I'd use them for teesha moore style stuff, but I'd like to think of something else I could do with these odd sizes of fabric. Any ideas?

I know what you mean. I just sent off a huge box of supplies, and I can't miss it. But I didn't amass all this stuff overnight. It's overwhelming, it's discouraging. But, baby steps. It will get done! Everytime I work on this, I get a bit more familiar with what I have, and it gets a teensey bit more organized. I just made a few things strictly from my stash for a swap. Can't post it, it's due to be mailed soon. And I've signed up for a couple of frugal/recycled swaps. That'll let me have the fun of crafting with the bonus of using up stash.
I do have a picture I need to post later of some fabric I've been hoarding. I'm wanting to do this months theme-if I can just think of a project!

Oooh, gibbous! That's on my ever lengthening list of projects. That's a lot of lace! Nice.
And, is it weird that I'm jealous of all the yarny goodness when I can't crochet or knit?  Smiley Whenever I'm in a yarn store, I just want to pet it, and ooh and ah. Well, weaving is also on my long list of stuff to do.
All the packages are so yummy!

This is so exciting. Tomorrow I stalk and plan and scribble ideas. And then bombard my partner with questions. Smiley It's been a long day at work, and am still busy at home tonight, so looking forward to getting started tomorrow!

1979  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Small Steampunk Swap (Signups through 4/15, Sendouts 5/17) on: April 01, 2011 11:42:53 PM
I'd love to join this but I've never made anything steampunk nor would I even know where to start Sad Perhaps I'll tinker around a bit and see what I can figure out, before I send in a questionnaire!

Think the feel of Jules Verne, Sherlock Holmes, Wild Wild West, Anything Victorian, Technology with gears and steam and wind ups, elegant brass instead of cold steel, and the ever present gears and watches. (Hey, they're fun accents!) Take a peek at a few steampunk swap galleries for inspiration, just hit images only to narrow it down a bit. And heck, anything almost can be punked up! Hope you decide to join in, it's fun.
