1901  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Meritorious Service Award in the Pursuit of Falling Stars (& other shiny medals) on: May 15, 2011 08:32:48 PM
I've been setting aside bits and bobs from the junk jewelry stash to make medals for some time-you've inspired me to get started on that project! I like what you've done. And they look great on that jacket-oh, I want the jacket, too. Grin
Well done!

1906  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: what's the best thing for razor burn? on: May 11, 2011 03:27:57 PM
Just good old cheap disposable razors, she's been shaving about a year. The exfoliation we've found does help, and shaving during a shower instead of a bath. We'll try the conditioner next-just changing one thing at a time right now. I've never head of shave minimizing lotion before, is it hard to find? And thanks for the aspirin tip, that's interesting.

Okay, the teenage DD is begging me to let her use Nair, so she can quit shaving with a razor. No matter what she does, she tends to get razor burn. And I'd rather not get her started on using a chemical hair remover regularly.
She soaks in a tub or shower first to soften the hair, shaves with the direction of growth, keeps the razor clean(one site suggested cleaning them with alcohol to kill bacteria), and uses a moisturizing gel shaving cream. And smooths on lotion afterwards. I've run out of things to suggest.
I'd be thrilled to whip up a batch of  lotion or whatever if anyone can suggest something that works for them. Any ideas?
