11  Pastel Bustle Skirt with Lace in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: November 12, 2009 05:19:29 PM
Here is another new skirt. It didn't come out exactly like I thought it would, but I really like it Smiley

It is all rectangle pieces of fabric gathered at the waist. The back is gathered by 3 elastic band in channels on the waistband. I hope you like it Smiley

12  Ear Headband (inspired by Angelic Pretty) :3 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: November 10, 2009 10:51:42 PM
I wasn't sure where to put this.. but I didn't see a section for accessories like headbands, so I thought it would fit here best.

This was inspired by the Angelic Pretty Milky-chan headband that came out a month or so ago.. I wasn't able to get one while I was in Tokyo since they sold out so fast.. so I decided to make one myself Smiley

I took a plain 10mm metal headband and covered it with kona cotton fabric. The ears are made of fluffy blanket material and anti-pill fleece. They are hand stitched on the headband. I made the bow awhile ago and it was just lying around so I decided to use it for this headband.

I hope to get some action shots of it up soon Cheesy

13  Water Bouquet Skirt ~ New pics up + second skirt :) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: November 08, 2009 03:39:34 PM
I just finished this skirt yesterday Smiley
It's a pretty simple lined rectangle skirt and the waistband is two elastic bands encased in fabric. The lining has hand dyed venise lace as trim.

I really love this skirt and I definitely plan on making more~

EDIT: I just took some new pics today.. And I also made a second version of the skirt- this time with a purple waistband Smiley

Here is the old pic:

15  Pink Chiffon Hime Glamour Dress <3 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: July 04, 2009 05:06:14 PM
I really wanted to make a Hime-gyaru style Lolita dress.. but it turned out just Hime-gyaru (it's a kind of fashion that is popular in japan). It was relatively simple to make, just a lot of fabric and a lot of work doing all the gathering and sewing.
The straps are two layers of lining plus a chiffon overlay with elastic inside. For the bodice, I made the lining from a pattern and gathered two layers of chiffon over it. I kind of altered it though, and added some shirred channels in the back. The rest of the dress is just a simple tiered skirt (except I used a ton of chiffon).

I had a hard time getting a good pic because of the wind, but here are a few to give you a good idea of what it looks like Smiley

16  My attempt at the Bjork Swan Dress~ in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: June 24, 2009 03:05:24 PM
I made this awhile ago, but I'm just now getting around to taking photos and uploading them. This is of course, the infamous Bjork swan dress.  Smiley

It is made out cotton fabric and lots and lots of tulle. I gathered and stitched on soo many layers of that tulle. It took forever, but I think it turned out good. I drafted the entire pattern myself~

17  Mint Strawberries and Cream Jumperskirt - Lolita Dress -UPDATE: Bow Tute on pg4 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: June 24, 2009 02:58:55 PM
Bahh.. I've been gone from here for so long! Here is a new dress I just finished a week or so ago. It is really inspired by the Lolita brand Angelic Pretty. I really think this is my best attempt at a Lolita dress so far. And I drafted the pattern myself~

The straps on the back view pick look a little lopsided.. but its only because the mannequin is not symmetrical :\ I made this dress specifically for a fashion show I just did, so I will try to upload pics of it being worn as soon as the promoter sends me the photographers image cd Smiley

Also- the bow pinned onto the neck is meant to be worn in on your head

What do you think?

18  blue velour bunny hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lauralyn on: March 24, 2009 12:34:36 AM

My friend commissioned me to make this after she saw my other animal hoodies Smiley

I really love how it came out! I dyed the lace red by hand and I think it looks really good on the blue turquoise-ish color! I will post pics of my friend wearing once I give it to her Smiley

I'm really happy with how it turned out Cheesy

20  Angelic Pretty Chocolat-Chan Kitty Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by lauralyn on: February 10, 2009 02:03:50 AM
The second that I saw this scarf in the Winter 2009 GLB, I knew that I had to make it! It's a pattern from the Japanese Lolita brand called Angelic Pretty. I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to read the pattern and I had to undo and redo a few parts.. but I'm really happy with how it turned out :3
