i'm still looking for my old fur, but I'm afraid that it won't be enough.

Anyone know a good resource for buying fur?

I saw that print at a fabric store and was thinking of making pillows with it!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

My room mate and I saw this hoodie by Juicy Couture a while back. He really wanted to get it, but it's $650.

I have reminants of an old rabbit fur coat that I may try and use, but I'm not sure if I have enough. Does anyone know of a good resource for fur or quality faux?

I would also appreciate any pointers for working with fur. I've done it before, but I feel like there must be a better way than what I have been doing.

Thanks!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knit Veggies!!! on: October 15, 2006 04:32:26 PM
I used two circular needles and cast on 20 stitches.

Knit around, occasionally k2tog until you get down to 1 stitch. You can make your carrot as long as you like. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last stitch. Pull the yarn up into the carrot "sleeve."

I stuffed the carrot with strips of plastic grocery bags, but you can really use anything.

Cut a piece of yarn and use a large sewing needle to weave in and out of the stitches at the opening at the top. Pull the yarn like a draw string and tie off.

The "leaves" of the carrot are just a simple tassel. The site below has some good instructions that can be modified to fit your carrot:

Attach you tassel to you carrot and ta da! Beta carotene!

I wanted to make some cat toys and ended up with some veggies.

I think I may just keep the carrot for myself. I like it too much to let it be torn up.

I also made a pumpkin. They are both stuffed with plastic grocery bags.

See below for quick tutorial.
