1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: The Great Knit Cloth-along of 2008 on: January 08, 2008 06:07:21 PM
Kbaur, I hope you get better soon and are able to knit your heart out.

What to do with the leftover yarn after finishing a cloth.  It usually isn't enough to do a second cloth.
Wow kbaur, what a bummer! I'm sending you knitty vibes!
Myklia, I have this problem too. I saw a pattern for little pot-scrubby thingies called "Tribbles" but I can't find the pattern now. They look really cute! I will post the link as soon as I can find it.

Oh!! Those stich markers look super fancy, i really like them!!
What are the bookmarks made from? It looks like somekindafabric but I can't be sure...
Purple is your favorite color?

Thanks for the compliment on the stitch markers, yellie! I made the bookmarks from polymer clay. I rolled it out very thin with a pasta maker, and then did some rubber stamping on some parts (the back side). I stamped KittyVegas's name on one, and "Hello Kitty" on the other. I then baked them at whatever the package said. I decoupaged the Hello Kitty pic, and sprayed with a sealer to make it extra shiny.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Crochet snowman ornament on: December 17, 2007 01:44:31 PM
Thanks for the tutorial, miamaria! I think it's great! I'm pretty new to crochet, but this makes perfect sense to me. I'll let you know how my expiriment turns out!
4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Oreo Balls :) These are seriously delicious and so easy! on: December 16, 2007 07:23:44 AM
If you haven't made these yet...what's taking you so long?  Wink These are great! These have become my family Christmas "staple" recipe. I like to chill my mixture a bit before rolling them into balls, and then refrigerate the rolled balls before dipping. I find that works better for me. I usually dip them in melted semisweet chocolate chips mixed with a dash of vegetable oil to thin the chocolate a smidge. I haven't tried the almond bark yet. I'm on the lookout for a teeny (maybe 2tsp size) ice cream scoop. A friend recommended that to help get a uniform size and to speed up the balling process. (I have been requested to make at least a triple batch for Christmas!) I'll let you all know how it turns out!

I received from KittyVegas. What a great package! I totally love it!

This pic shows some of the non-crafted goodies she sent me. Two skeins of cotton yarn in my favorite color-purple, a cute picture frame, and a magnetic notepad.

On the left, a cute little stuffie, on the right is a beautiful bracelet.

Isn't this scarf incredible??? I've been knitting scarves for Christmas presents, and have dreaming of a new one for myself.
Thanks for being a great swap partner KittyVegas!
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Mini Holiday Swap (Sign ups 10/27- 11/17) ( Send outs 12/8) on: November 12, 2007 09:51:17 AM
Im so anxious to meet my partner.  Shocked
I wanted to buy fabrics and start crafting this weekend but I didnt because I need to know what my partner likes and wants.
I can so relate! This is the exact reason I've been trying to sign up for swaps towards the end...then I have less time to wait for a partner!

I am SO not in the Christmas spirit. No Christmas songs for me. That's why I am thinking about joining this swap...to help get me in the spirit!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: any Ravelry Crocheters out there? on: October 19, 2007 08:10:22 PM
I'm in...and I'm addicted already. I can't seem to enter any of my own projects and stash because I'm LOVING looking at everyone elses! But I'm torn...what if my new Ravelry love takes away from my obessive craftster obsession?  Wink

My username is misswendiki over there. I like friends!
