1  Re: Mini Holiday Swap in The Swap Gallery by misswendiki on: December 13, 2007 08:39:38 PM
I received from KittyVegas. What a great package! I totally love it!

This pic shows some of the non-crafted goodies she sent me. Two skeins of cotton yarn in my favorite color-purple, a cute picture frame, and a magnetic notepad.

On the left, a cute little stuffie, on the right is a beautiful bracelet.

Isn't this scarf incredible??? I've been knitting scarves for Christmas presents, and have dreaming of a new one for myself.
Thanks for being a great swap partner KittyVegas!

Here are the stitch markers...beautiful!

I love them all! Thanks craftykt!

Here are my last 2 cards! Aren't they great?
The top one is from Saor. It's of the "Six Spotted Burnet Moth." It's much prettier than any moth I've ever seen here in the States, but maybe that's a good thing. The postcard says they are poisonious! Wink
The bottom one is from balkandina. Isn't it funky and fun!

Okay, I'm slacking as far as sending, but I'll stock slacking about posting! Here's a pic of the Houston skyline from novastarlet, and the Morris Island Lighthouse (near Charleston, South Carolina) from have2craft. Thanks ladies!  Smiley

I received from octopusinclothing today, and she totally spoiled me. Here's the group pic:

She found some vintage knitting books and pamphlets at a library sale, and yes, fellow knitters, that is a copy of Elizabeth Zimmerman's "Knitting Without Tears." This copy was published in 1971, and is in PERFECT condition!
Here is a closeup of the bookmarks and book she sent me. The book is "The Freakshow" by Bryan Smith. The bookmarks are fabric with funky paper sewn onto the front. Awesome!

Here's a link to the book description on amazon.com:
Sounds good, doesn't it? and here's one to the current edition of Knitting Without Tears:

GoldfishGirl received, and this gallery has been too quiet for my taste, so I am going to post some pics of what I sent that groovy Gryffindor gal.
I made her some jewlery from polymer clay to celebrate her Gryffindorness. It was my first attempt, and I think I am hooked!  Smiley

I put those guys into this painted and decoupaged box:

Hermione wouldn't want GoldfishGirl to fall behind on her studies, so I covered a pen with polymer clay and made a stand/paperweight thingie for it.

GoldfishGirl is a big Weasley fan, so I made her a Tshirt so the whole world will know.

GoldfishGirl is also a Neville fan. I am also, and really don't think he gets much enough play. So I was inspired to make this shirt. Besides, I am obsessed with the PotterPuffs. In a good way. I think.  Wink:

Ready, get set, WIST! Check out my package from GoldfishGirl. She sent me the best Hufflepuff goodness EVER! My pesky batteries  won't hold up for many pics, so I will post some action shots later on.
First up...group shot:

The background is my groovy new Tshirt that I am planning to wear to the movie premier, the book release, when walking my dog, when going grocery shopping, when knitting, ....
You can see my awesome stitch markers, my awesome magnets, some house-elf inspired socks, yummy tea, some handspun yarn, and my prefect badge. You can't see the chocolate bar, tissues,  and soap that escaped the pic.
Close-up of yummy yarn:

2 skeins of "Huffle" and 1 of "Puff." 100% wool. Hand-spun. Mmmm...handspun wool. I haven't decided what is worthy of being knit from this. Ideas?
Another close-up:

I've wanted some cool stitch markers for a while, yippee!!! I'm thinking of wearing my new prefect badge to work, but I don't think the muggles will understand that means I am the boss now. The book holder-open thing is so cool! It's another tool to make sure that pesky "life" doesn't get in the way of reading Book 7!

8  Re: A Very Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by misswendiki on: June 06, 2007 09:32:20 AM
Prepare to be jealous gang! I received from Sammimag, and it's the coolest! I received 3 crocheted dischcloths, some cotton yarn, a crochet hook, and 2 swatches with nifty notes and hints attached.
Here's the group shot: It's missing an awesome teal cloth, because I am already washing dishes with it!

Closeup of granny-square looking one:

Closeup of green guy:

I'll post a pic of the teal one after it's trip through the laundry!

Okay, I've been slacking, so here are my postcard pics. I love them all! First up: Have2craft sent me this awesome art pic from Andrew Wyeth. It's called Qinter 1946. Love it. The bottom one is from thecoffindontwant me. Awesome!

Next up: Katebug48 sent me this funky alien baby. Novastarlet sent me this awesome French Quarter card. I'm SO ready for a vacation!

Ruby_soho sent this disgusting recipe card--I hate onions, haha! Isn't the card the_dez sent great? It's called "The Ceremony of Innocence" by Nick Bantock.

Last but not least...On the left is a card from Saor. It's called "Sleepless Night (Sitting)" by Yoshimo Nara. I like how it's got a funky asian vibe. On the right is a card from Gumshoegal. It's a photo of Orion from inside the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Personally, my favorite part of going to casinos is checking out the decorations. Way better than gambling, I think!

Thanks gang, I look forward to seeing you guys in Round 3!
