1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Green Lantern Hoodie on: July 19, 2011 04:57:38 PM
So this just may be the coolest thing I've ever made. And now I have to give it to my guy for his birthday. ...sigh.

Followed https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=100217.0 for basic hoodie making tips. I didn't draw out a pattern or anything, just kinda made it up as I went. There are a few mistakes, but I am pleased overall with how it turned out.

excuse the iphoto quality, i couldn't find my camera.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / second star to the right on: November 01, 2008 02:26:17 PM
This is the first contest i've entered and i'm excited Smiley

I made everything that my costume includes except the tinkerbell and the dagger.

So here it is, my childhood dream completed! For halloween this year i was Peter Pan.
(sorry there are no "making of" pictures, it involved a lot of sewing of leaves...pretty bland)

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Fix Runny Paint on: April 10, 2008 09:32:41 PM
So i'm really upset because i worked over 5 hours on this shirt and although 3.5 out of 5 of my dinos turned out great (the pterodactyl is kinda messed up, but i can get over it) but my poor triceratops decided to be a runny mess. To make the problem worse, it's in bright yellow in the middle of this shirt! I guess i mixed the Textile medium differently then usual (i might have been getting tired because the triceratops was the last dino i did...)

I was just wondering if any of you know a way to fix this, I have not heat set the pterodactyl or the triceratops yet, so would soaking it in some type of soapy water solution get the excess paint to disappear?  i was so excited about this shirt, it would be a shame to never wear it because of a runny mess of a triceratops.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / 2 Avatar ATCs on: January 26, 2007 03:36:27 PM
Hey all! i have 2 ATCs
They are both Avatar related, don't know how many Avatar fans there are on craftster but it was fun making them  Cheesy

The first one is of Prince Zuko, arguably my favorite character of the show.

And the Appa one isn't done, i was gonna do something, but as i started making the card, i decided against it. So any ideas on what to do with it? I believe every TV show needs a flying bison teehee

enjoy whether or not you're a fan of the show!
and suggestions on the Appa card are welcome
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / ATC materials on: November 26, 2006 05:14:09 PM
Hey everyone. I am in awe of all these wonderful ATC skills. i have just gotten into them (i've made 1 so far....) and i have tons of ideas.
I was just wondering where you find materials for them, such as vintage photos or letters such as these:

(pjmclnj i hope you dont mind me using your photo as an example, i can delete it if needed)

Do you just happen upon these items
or am i just not looking in the right places?
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Stenciling pillowcases? on: November 09, 2006 11:59:49 AM
Hey, i'm thinking of stenciling a pillow case for a friend, but i was wondering if that would be uncomfortable to sleep on (kinda scratchy...) so should i go with an smaller stencil or off center so it wont be right where your head is

or is there any other method?

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Making purses with Felt embelisments question on: October 24, 2006 12:40:41 PM
Hey all, i have a question. when making little felt embelisments for purses i was wondering if you all hand sew them or machine sew them.
i know that i try making them (especially putting two pieces of felt together) the machine jams and its a big unfun mess.

any tips would be helpful!

9  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Newborns in Need on: October 09, 2006 01:40:57 PM
Newborns in need (www.newbornsinneed.org) is an organization that provides clothing items to premmies and homeless babies. the pre-mature babies are so small that clothing items from stores are to big and they need their clothes handmade. And as some people may know, babies are expensive, so some homeless mothers cannot afford to properly clothe their babies.

Newborns in need provides handmade items to all of these parents for free. they are non-profit and any money that is donated to them is used to buy supplies to make the clothing.

There are patterns for blankets and other clothes on the website.

its a great organization, please take a few minutes to check it out.
