1  Re: fabric lunch bag (pics included) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by moonshinebluebird on: September 19, 2008 10:28:09 AM
I love this idea! and everyone's creations... the one with the mushrooms is so so cute !  i have some of what I think is tablecloth material, it is soft one one side and vinyl on the other, going to try this with that as the interior. (it was in the scrap bin)

Blondiekate, at first, trying to think of it in my head I think I had the same mental block as you did so I did this to expand on what buffalo showed.

In my head I was actually trying to fit FOUR  10x11 pieces on there but still thinking it was two...  So I fired my head and got a new one.

ahhh it took my slow brain a minute to figure out why the moon should have holes... then oh! haha it should.

I've been doing a lot of pencil sketches of moths and flying insects like that in the sketchbook and the first thing I had thought was "oh if only I could make jewelry!"  Going to at least figure out how to make a crown out of one of the designs for the elven fairy outfit I'm working on for Scarborough fair.  Hopefully with more sketches and more practice the designs will improve too.

Those birds are ready to burst! At least that is what my hubby said when he saw it.  Maybe they are helium filled bluebirds... its a new breed.

Here is one more that I had scanned in today but didn't get posted earlier.

Day 51February 20, 2008
Field Mouse.  Watercolor, graphite, and prisma color pencil on brown kraft paper adhered to a playing card.

p.s. I really want to go back and edit this one and kind of put a splash of color behind the mouse.

Another batch before I pass out Smiley ... we're using the scanner for warmth  Cheesy well not me, but the cats laying on it are hehe.  I know I shouldn't throw art away  Tongue  and I really ended up liking the moon.  I'll just have a "look at another time" bin... and then mail them all to asphaltqueen hehe.

Day 43 February 12, 2008
Flying Moon.
Pencil and Watercolor.

Day 44 February 13, 2008
Garden Flowers. (I forget, I think they were sugarsnap peas)
Pencil, ink, and watercolor.

Day 45 February 14, 2008
Flower-bud Moon.
Pencil and Watercolor.

Day 46 February 15, 2008
Birds of Warmth.
pencil watercolor and ink

Day 47 February 16, 2008
Midnight Moth.
Pencil, Ink, and Watercolor.  Brown kraft paper wrapped card. *ooo 10 second memory*

whew ok.. getting closer to be caught up with scanning...

anyone else have problems with paper curling up, not bad, but just not flat?  I am pressing them under a lot of heavy books and that seems to work for most, wondering if there is anything else that would work to make them flat again.  (The water really makes the paper curve up some.)

have a good night! and thanks for stalking me Smiley (never though I'd say that!)

That is exactly what I told my doctor! Wonder if I went in with some atc's super glued to random parts of my body, and ear full of glitter and a few socks sewn to my hair if he'd understand  Cheesy

Ok here are five more that I got scanned in, at least they are small and I can scan a bunch at once yay.

Thank you so much for your well wishes and comments.  I swear I don't usually have episodes that last this long in the winter... summer is another deal.   It is still bad and takes forever to get these things scanned in and put up but here goes I think I'll do four at a time.

Day 34 February 03, 2008
Inky Blue.
Ink, marker, and watercolor

Day35 Febuary 04, 2008
Confusing Tree.

After looking at this one my husband got very perplexed and told me to look at it again... so I did and it confused me too.  Somehow the negative space pops out sometimes to my eyes.

Day 36 February 05, 2008
Repetition plants.
marker and watercolor.

At this point repetitive loops felt good.  Not something I would of normally done, which isn't a bad thing at all... so maybe not feeling good has a silver lining Smiley (thanks Banga for helping me see that!)

Day 37 February 06, 2008
Repetition Flowers.
Marker and watercolor

Those loops felt good to just repeat, so I did again.

Ok will work on getting the next four scanned and cropped up right etc.  The next one I like but actually had tossed it in the trash... but looked down at it about an hour later and realized that it just wasn't finished.  (I won't do that again, throw one away that is... just set it aside until I can see it differently hehe)

Thank you soooo much for your patience!!

And if you want to make a voodoo doll of the "specialist" who told me to stop taking my (life saving) medecine before getting my full test results please feel free.   He was wrong, and had to admit it, but that doesn't make me feel much better dealing with the results of his carelessness grrr *bark growl hiss* I'm happy now but be happy you didn't have to deal with me last week at all Smiley

Thank you so much for the compliments and for looking!  Extremely relieved here to know that others get messy while creating too hehe.

The nice bunny was from a sketch in my sketchbook and so are these next two.

Day 32 February 01, 2008
Watercolor Pencil.

Exposed Breasts Warning.
I didn't know if I could post the picture with boobies so let me know if I should keep as is or post the picture Smiley

Day 33 February 02, 2008
Watercolor, Ink, Marker, and Watercolor pencil.

The mermaid was done in my sketchbook while thinking of paintings for my niece Sirena, who collects mermaids, of course!

Azure is AzureGrackle from etsy and I had done some sketches of some of my friends from etsy last year.  There are really some awesome people and artists there of course, and AzureGrackle is both Smiley

Micky (who will hit post before a cat erases the entire thing again! grr hehe)

**p.s. OH I did use stamps for the words, I got this little alphabet one for $1 at target a while back.  I wet the watercolor pencil and drew on the stamp, then pressed it to the paper**

haha you guys are all very punny Smiley Mister Janice is not amused! But I am hehe.

Day 30 January 30, 2008
Bee Mine.
Ink and marker

Day 31 January 31, 2008
Nice Bunny.
Ink and marker.

Not a lot of story behind these except that that bunny really likes you guys.  With Bar-B-Q sauce I think!

Tonight I tried to do a more umm assemblage type card on chipboard... and I'm going to need to spend a lot more time on it!!

So far I've managed to glue 2 dowels to a few ink pens, there are 4 clamps on the piece right now, probably glued to it with my luck, and there is glitter everywhere.  Seriously it looks like a fairy blew up in my room... and I'm not even using glitter!  What fun.  I never read anywhere that you were supposed to open a bottle of wine when doing assemblage, you guys need to keep me up to date on these things!

Day 29 January 29, 2008
Mister Janice isn't Happy.
Watercolor and Ink.

As an adolescent, Janice was dressed up in girly dresses and made to be the baby in his "owners" games of play house.  He was hassled and teased by all the other young bunnies at the time.  Due to this grisly past,  he now tries to accentuate his maleness by wearing a fake mustache and a bad hairpiece.  It is wise not to mention this, and never ask what his cane is made from... or where that littel girl is now.

Crafty_Dame:  I'm so glad you like the trees!! ... my sketchbooks are full of them there will be lots more hehe.

Babbetto: whew thank you!! It was hard to mix the colors to match.

maddiemoos: thanks so much Smiley

Avian Flight: thank you and happy birthday!!  and thank you sooo much for the stalking hehe I fixed it I think now!

Leelou: I love her work!! She is one of my more modern inspirations.  I love rackham, jessie M. King, Aubrey Beardsly, Mucha, and soo much more, oh yeah Froud of course.  I think I'm still finding my style (of course you do that by doing.. and styles evolve anyway!).  It really took a long time to say "ok self, just draw how YOU draw, let it flow, and just do it... even if you think it looks like poop"  Eventually it doesn't look like poop and all. (unless I'm drawing poop, which I haven't really...)

Bushbaby: thank you!  I think the little moths are telling the male deer about the sweet doe over there.  Yes I love computers... and I say bad words around them sometimes *whistle* Of course we upgrade the vid cards so we could play more games hehe.

Talyra: Thank you so much, I love both Disney and really really love the art nouveau.  Would love to do some things in that style, which means I really need to study it with my thinking cap on, not my slacker cap.  I'll keep posting! this is so much fun Smiley

Day 28 January 28, 2008
The Meeting Tree

Day 27 January 27, 2008
You Don't Say?

And it goes with the other deer so I mocked them up together.  I hope they look all right together.  It is kind of weird not doing them all the same day, but it was fun!
