11  FO's... reversible scarf, cable scarf and jiffy tube top into tank top in Knitting: Completed Projects by quikroxy85 on: January 02, 2007 11:47:31 AM
REVERSIBLE scarf for brother modeled by my brother... he lives in the MTNS so it is extra warm!
Pattern from Hip knits... REALLY quick, really easy Smiley I made a mistake and ran out of the skein of homespun I was using... which i didn't originally have a label on, SO I tried to match colors at the store... I thought I had it perfect, but apparently didn't. The new color is a rainbow-ish type color, which fades through blue green, red, and orange... I didn't know what to do! So, I made a separate piece going thru the same colors, and mattress stitched it on.
Irish hiking Cabled scarf for bf's mom, modeled by BF. I used encore chunky weight yarn.

jiffy tube top turned into a tank top:

12  Re: So what crafty goodness have you received over the holidays this year? in Discussion and Questions by quikroxy85 on: December 27, 2006 07:48:58 AM
My wonderful amazing boyfriend is CRAZY talented in every walk of life...

this was our fourth christmas together, and I swear, he out-does himself EACH and every year.

Two years ago he gave me a HUGE knitting loom to make blankets on. He also made me a polymer clay bowl out of tons of beads that he made himself. (And he spent tons and tons of time on because the first one shattered!)

Last year, he gave me a cameo ring, and a beautiful pen that he turned himself (woodworking), in a box that he stained and decorated.

This year, the best of all years so far, I got:
A sterling silver spoon bracelet:
On the other side, it says "Buffalo Library" with a cool picture of the beautiful building. I have a tiny wrist, so I don't know how he figured out how to get it to fit perfectly, but it does!

An apron made out of cool vintage fabric and denim:(he had to get female help )

a GORGEOUS cutting board (something I'd asked him to make a LONG time ago... although I imagined it TINY (about 6x9) because, wood can be $$ and it could take a long time to do!). He made it out of two pieces of wood, and woodworking just amazes me, because I DON'T get it at all!

So in conclusion, I dearly love him! I wonder what he'll do next year? Haha.

Hope everyone elses Holiday was as wonderful as mine Smiley

14  New to Board, 4 embroidery projects so far IMG heavy in Needlework: Completed Projects by quikroxy85 on: November 13, 2006 08:58:02 PM
2 of them are Sublime stitching , and two stamped from the store... I love to embroider .

the last two are in a set of two.

I really like the look of the colored (the guitar\amp one) pillowcase with contrast, and I think I will stick to that in the future.

Any comments/tips?

16  rock n roll pillowcase in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by quikroxy85 on: November 13, 2006 08:52:58 PM
This is the guitar with (TWEED!) pillowcase I've made for my boyfriend. He is an AWESOME guitarist and I loved the pattern... so here it is!

it looked slightly blank without the cord, so I freehanded that with a pencil and just embroidered with it!

This was my first sublime stitching project. what do you think?
