1  Re: Make-a-Friend Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by seetulane on: June 18, 2008 08:23:02 PM
I got back from class today and had an e-mail from Msil services that I had a package.  and It was from ckchan!
everything together (sorry for the blur I was eating so holding still was tricky)

who/where(sorry about the glare the lighting in my room sucks and it's 90 degrees with 100% humidity I refuse to step outside without better reason than taking pictures)

Favorite things.  I too am a fan of red heart although I truly prefer caron .  you can never go wrong with chocolate.  The oven mitt is because she's a fan of baking.  The question is how did she know I needed one desperately?

a kitty amigurimi (sorry he's apparently camera shy) a trinket box decorated xkcd style Grin I love me some xkcd.  and a pen with a daffodil on top.  It's gorgeous.

2  Pin-upy girl quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by seetulane on: May 20, 2008 04:09:30 AM
This is my first quilt.  It's fairly simple, great big blocks of fabrics.  It will probably be one of those quilts that bothers me so much in ten years that I have to take it all apart.  or throw it out in a fit of rage.  It is wonky and poorly quilted.  The binding is all, well, wonky.  But now I love it love it love it!

The front:

The back:

I was too impatient to pre-wash the fabrics (one of my many faults) also, I like the look of antique shrunken quilts the only problem that I didn't foresee was that the backing is half red.  I think that my whole quilt will end up being a bit purple.  Also, I used a cotton batting (also not preshrunk) to add to the antique-y,cozy, wrinkled-y look.  I will post pics when I get around to washing it.
ETA: I washed it.  It survived.  It is now perfect! YAY!

3  class project in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by seetulane on: March 14, 2007 11:37:12 AM
Ok so I posted this in color-a-month craftalong section already because well, it fit this month's theme.  I actually did both the cold work and the hot work on this piece although the hot work was basically drop a lump of glass on the marver.  It is hand ground and then polished in some areas and not in others to create the image.  I did almost all of the work with my dremel, the back needed  flatening so that was done on a grinding wheel but besides that it was my lovely little dremel.  I love that little guy.
