I'm really glad you liked everything, superhooker Cheesy  Here are few clearer pics of the bags:

Click for larger pics
These bags were based on ones from her wists found at knitone.com.  Those suckers are $68!!  Definitely one of those things that are "quite-nice-but-I'd-never-pay-that-much-for-something-I-can-make-myself" This is the first one I made, but I wasn't happy with how droopy it was and with the fact that I thought I 'd be clever and add a grommet where yarn could come out.  Then I thought about it and figured that when she put her WIP in the bag there'd be this little stretch of yarn hanging out, not good...

So I made another one and sent both 'cause she might actually like the droopy one with the "hole" in it Wink

Comparison shot...

And just because it took me forever to get good pics without these one of these 2 wandering into the shot...

2  Uneven bumps, what am I doing wrong? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by tasi292 on: August 20, 2007 09:15:02 AM
I'm sorry if this has been asked before but i just can't find an answer.

I started teaching myself to knit 10 days ago and I've been doing little garter swatches off and on during that time.  Last night I finally sat down to learn to purl and decided to try the stockinette stitch.  Trudging slowly along (it took 20 minutes to make this 4.5" x 5" swatch...AAARGGH) I came up with this:

As you can see the swatch has all these little uneven furrows on the knit side and gaps on the purl  Angry Cry.  Am I knitting too tightly, loosely?  Is this a problem blocking will fix?

I am using worsted weight yarn on 5.0mm/US8 needles, and I'm a continental knitter.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Superhooker, you have got to be one of the most awesome swappers out there!!  The package you sent was INCREDIBLE!!  Even before I opened it there was the most heavenly smell wafting from it.  The source was the fabulous felted soap...

One for me and one for hubby Wink

Then some scrumptious yarn which my dd has demanded I make something with for her because it's "fluff-ly"...

TONS of loose crochet patterns and crochet books!!  I almost bought "the Crochet Answer Book" a week ago Wink

Last but certainly not least a flamingo beaded handbag, dd loves large birds and this bag now houses her littleleappad and cartridges (her fave toy), and some homemade goats-milk lotion which, I have to say, I've fallen completely in love with and have since googled how to make it myself and have earmarked this month's craft budget for the supplies to make more Grin

Thank you so much, superhooker, I love it all!!  Anybody who gets picked by her is a lucky duck Cheesy

Finally getting around to posting pics of the water bottle cozy I made for Arzus little sis Grin

Arzus sis is very environmentally conscious and likes the color green so the entire cozy is made from recycled/salvaged materials with a green theme Cheesy

Click for larger pics

The cozy started out as the flap from an old messenger bag that I had stashed away because I loved the appliqu.

The lining and strap contrast came from scraps from a dress I made for my dd.  The hardware came off of an old camera bag.

I made it to fit 1 litre sized bottles or larger.  You can easily fit two small water bottle in it.  I sent the green bottle as well.  I think she knits so she may even use it as a project holder on her hikes Wink

Hope she finds it useful Smiley

Well, I finally found that darn cable and here are the pics of the purse I wear all the time now Cheesy

Zippered pouch with the a cute little beaded pull, tissue holder with tissues (an absolute necessity in my purse), German vitamin C candies (yum), hand lotion, and a glass bead kitty keychain that I LOVE.
Theres a mini-journal thats missing because I was decoupaging it when I took the pics and also the cutest matching pinwheel brooch which my daughter ran off with and it hasnt been seen since.

Closeups of the keychain, just because I think its so darn kawaii Cheesy

Action shots

I took this pic at my dhs Ultimate Frisbee game.  That interesting looking bear is my dds best friend Happy Jojo.  The white stuff you see peeking out is dds taekwondo uniform.

Got it at Wal-mart, but I'm sure you can get it anywhere they sell spray-paints.  It looks like this:

Thought I'd share how the dinks I made for a swap turned out with the sealant.

I love this sealant.  It makes them SOOOO SHINY and its a pretty thick glaze to boot.  I used "KRYLON Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze", it's a mouthful, but that's exactly what it's called Wink  Folow the directions and you'll be fine.  No smearing and no dripping.  This stuff is GREAT!!
