1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Box Bag on: March 01, 2012 07:17:46 PM
I made a travel type of bag.

It's the first one that I have ever made and I'm very pleased with how it came out.

I use one type of fabric for the outside and then a heavy interfacing and yet another kind of fabric for the inside.

I want to make more.

Next time I will put a handle on it.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Citrus Coasters on: January 25, 2012 03:02:47 PM
I made these as a Christmas gift, and I can finally get around to posting about them.

These are super cute and super easy to make.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Apple Coasters on: January 17, 2012 04:01:41 PM
I made these apple coasters for a friend for christmas.

They are made of felt, and are hand sewn.

Before they were sewn.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Love takes flight... but at night on: April 14, 2011 10:54:58 AM
I finally made my idea of a heart with bat wings, he's now a plushie! It's something that I have been doodling for a long time.

He's a whopping 29x12 inches. That's some wingspan.

I'm very happy with how the wings turned out.

Thanks for looking! =^-^=
5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / quilted trivets (pictures galore) on: April 12, 2011 06:40:12 AM
I think that this goes here. They are made in a quilted fashion.

These trivets are my second time at quilting something.

I've always have liked the raw edge look. So I saw this project in one of those free leaflets that you pick up at the craft stores. It was too cute to pass up.

It matches my coffee theme in my kitchen.

I made them from my fabric stash that is starting to become a monster. lol

I mostly do hand stitched applique, but this is the first time that I used my sewing machine for the applique.
They were very easy to make. The only hand sewing that I did were the words.

I can't wait to hang them on my wall. They are too pretty to use!  Grin
My Granny will be proud of me that I quilted something (even though it was very small).
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Bunting for a baby's room (images) on: April 05, 2011 09:17:03 AM
I made bunting for a baby girl's room.
It's for a friend, I'm pretty sure that she doesn't come to Craftster, so it should be pretty safe to post this here before she gets it.

She is doing a soft forest colors theme in the room and loves owls, so I thought I would use some extra owl fabric I had laying around.

It's three yards long.

I added cute little buttons on the ends to hide the raw edges.

This was so easy I'll probably make more.  Grin
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cute little birdie on: January 01, 2011 04:38:31 PM
I came up with this cute little design after seeing a cute little bird on a kid's shirt.

I used variegated yellow thread, you can't see it too well in the photo but it's light enough that it gives a very soft effect to it.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / The wise apron? on: July 08, 2010 09:53:15 AM
I friend of mine is getting married and I wanted to make her a couple of things for wedding gifts. She had mentioned once that she wanted a cute apron.

I wanted a contrasting fabric as the pockets.

The first time I have put a ruffle on an apron.

This is an in progress pic.

What did I learn while making this? I learned that I hate ruffles.

It took me about a day altogether to complete this. The ruffle is what took the longest. But I'm very happy with how it came out.  Grin
9  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Peacock on: February 21, 2010 07:35:21 PM
The first time that I ever laid eyes on this Jenny Hart design, I HAD to stitch it!

It has an array of stitches that give it a very interesting look. Not so boring as one that only has one kind of stitch.

I found an old v neck tee in my closet and it fit beautifully from the should to the chest.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cupcake joy! on: January 16, 2010 07:40:09 PM
This is my first embroidery project. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I wanted to start simple. It's my own design.
I can't believe that it have taken me this long to learn of to embroider stuff. It is SO easy, I feel so silly that I hesitated.

I'm currently work on more stitching projects, can't wait to share them!
