1  UNITED STATES / Maryland / Salvage yard? on: May 24, 2009 09:04:22 PM
Hey MD'ers. I'm searching for a salvage yard somewhere, anywhere in Maryland. Not like a junkyard for old cars, but a salvage yard that sells old doors, windows, hardware, etc. If anyone knows of anything, I'd love to know about it also!

2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What are you and what are you doing in my craft room? on: April 20, 2009 05:24:38 PM
The boyfriend says that they might be glass insulators/spacers for power lines. We can't find any pictures though. I'd wager a guess that they're electrical-related somehow.

Ooo I'm game for this.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Opinions on best way to crochet this? on: April 08, 2009 10:18:05 AM
I think I'm gonna go with a sc with the biggest hook I have. I'll let you know how it goes!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Opinions on best way to crochet this? on: April 07, 2009 01:22:57 PM
While I was supposed to be studying, I was browsing the web today (big surprise there) and I found this knit curtain on craftstylish.com

I adore the loose organic look of this and I'd like to make something similar...but I don't knit, I crochet.

How do you think I could reproduce this look in crochet?  I've looked at crochet lace patterns, but it's too constructed/perfect looking.  I want to keep with a nice natural look.  I was thinking maybe doing SC with a big hook and thin-ish thread.   I'd really appreciate any suggestions on this. Any thoughts?  Huh
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine's Day Gifts? Is this unusual? on: March 12, 2009 10:55:20 AM
Oh my goodness no don't stop! If it makes you happy, then go on doing it.  My mom claims that "Cupid Angel" (along with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, depending on the holiday) still visits me and my siblings and we're in our 20s.
I think it's sweet and I love getting her things too!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Grandma Shirt to somewhat cool shirt on: February 11, 2009 11:31:08 AM
Wow I love this shirt. I think you completely succeeded at awesomeness!!! It's fantastic. I want one!!
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Caroling and Skiing and Sledding--What Fun! on: December 28, 2008 10:54:05 AM
That is beyond adorable-- I love that fabric. I had some a few years ago and made my mom a table runner. I wish I had the ability to make a quilt like that! I adore it!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My latest top: a dreadful mistake that should never have seen the light of d on: December 12, 2008 09:21:57 AM
I think it looks great! If you're worried about the boobage, just add a ribbon under the bust (which is actually the smallest part of your body) to accentuate that area more.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: RING LOVE! IMAGE HEAVY! on: October 12, 2008 12:47:44 PM
I love these rings. How do you make the scrabble tiles so...dimensional, I guess. Do you pour resin over top of them?
