2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first article of clothing! i'm so proud. on: March 20, 2008 01:12:42 PM
AWESOME!!! I'm so proud of you! it looks great.
You don't need ribbing for the arm and neck holes. just cut a strip of the same knit that is about 2/3 the length of the armhole and about 2" in width - sew the ends of the band together to form a loop and press in the middle - it will kinda look like a mini turtleneck. now stretch the band into the armhole as you sew. it will act the same as ribbing. you can do the same for the neck but you'll need a little more length than 2/3... try 3/4 the length.

"and one of those push things that closes/tightens the bag (no idea what they're called!)."

Oddly enough they are called Cord Stops. LOL I use them all the time!
I love the fabric you chose. I think its an Alexander Henry print. I know they did a whole series of floating arabesques in different colors.
5  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Say What? on: February 04, 2008 09:54:29 AM
I have no idea if this has ever been suggested before and I apologize if I am stepping on toes, but....

How about crafting a proverb? Take your favorite saying, idiom proverb, etc. and craft it!

Some examples:

"A stitch in time saves nine"
"Don't count you chickens before they hatch"

I bet there are some awesome proverbs from foreign countries!

Just a suggestion...  Grin
