1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Gingerbread Icecream stand - Lucia procession, preist and Santa with wifes on: December 16, 2012 08:28:24 AM
2012 version of Gingerbread house (or this year a icecream stand) is now ready! The design is made by my children, I built it and we all decorated it. Only one small blister from the hot sugar Smiley The sign says Glass witch means Ice cream in English
The picture is also our Christmas card for this year so it says Merry Christmas in Swedish Smiley

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My crafty kids :) a penguin and remade lego figures on: December 16, 2012 01:57:16 AM
Daughter (12 years) has designed and sewn by hand, a penguin. It was intended as a Christmas gift to her new half-brother, but we agreed that it was not so safe for children. He gets it as a decoration for a start.

My son (9 years old) saw the movie about the five legends and when we got home the Lego figures had to be redone. He has just got a little help with Sandyman.

I wish I had half of their imagination Smiley

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My 12 year old daughter's version of Finn & Jake on: November 27, 2012 09:21:10 PM
I think my daughter is a much better craftsman than me, she amaze me. I don't understand how she makes these small clay versions of Jake and Finn. I had to get a photo and show you, hope you enjoy them just as much as I.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / a hearty door decoration on: November 24, 2012 05:14:15 AM

Every year I make a christmas decoration to hang on the door. This year it was a little harder than usual to come up with a idea since I have moved an the new door is indoor and also made of steel. So no nails to hang the decoration on and material that can stay green indoors. Well that is a peace of cake if you are a good at crafts isn't it. Moss and magnets is the solution. And if some one doesn't understand swedish it says Merry Christmas Wink

Have a nice weekend!
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Newspaper basket for advent candles on: November 24, 2012 04:58:49 AM
Hi all!

Christmas is is getting closer and it's will soon be time to light the first Advent candle. For me it was time to arrange a new candle holder since the old one I had is pretty ugly. This is so much more I and is also a great way to recycle old newspapers. The cost is close to zero because the only thing that costs is a little glue.

In progress

With decorations

Hope you enjoy!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Easter eggs...lot of monsters on: March 24, 2012 01:28:10 PM
My kids, Oskar (Cool and Linn (11) and I have made some easter eggs. Linn made Frankenstein, Harry Potter. I made the fish and three eyed monster and Oskar made the monster with wings and the large monster with long arms (a little help from me to put in the wire)

Hope you like!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Party top for the summer, draped neckline and bare back on: March 22, 2012 01:00:37 AM

Hope all you crafty people are feeling fine! This top has come a favorite piece. Went on a bussines tripp to Paris and had a few minutes over to dive in to a fabric store. Found this lovely fabric that was a "must have". Back home in Sweden I really struggle with decision anxiety on what to make of it. After a while I thought simple and subtle sexy was the thing to go for. So I went for a construction with a draped neckline and a bare back using a necklace chain.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A cloche hat in boiled wool (with tutorial) on: October 03, 2010 07:35:14 AM
Hi everyone!

The winter is coming fast here, so it was time to make the yearly hat Smiley

I used duct tape to construct the pattern, and below you can follow the different steps.

I use a old pare of nolyn stockings and taped over them.

I used a string to draw the center, front to back and side to side.

Here i find the angle on the brim.

After that, I taped them together. I only made a brim half way around.

I pulled the hat of and poured corn starch inside to avoid the hat to stick. Then I draw lines where i wanted the seams.

After cutting the pieces i transfered them to paper smoothing the edges.

Here is the hat from the right side.

And the left

Hope you enjoyed!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Here I come in my new silk dress on: August 24, 2010 12:45:36 PM
I bought a very expensive fabric earlier this year. I have squirmed over the fact that I had to cut in the fabric. Both because it was so expensive and because it is made of silk. As many of you know, silk lives it own life and cutting the pattern pieces were not easy. The fact that I had chosen to construct a pattern that should be cut on the bias did not make it easier . Thought for a while that everything would go all wrong, especially when the hem turned very uneven because of the bias cut. But finally i made even the hem look good. I had to hand sew some of the seams and the hem but other wise I think the sewing wasn't that difficult.

The pattern that I designed is basically pretty simple. I thought the fabric would be allowed to speak and the only extra is drape in the neckline. I will certainly use the pattern again.

Are happy with the outcome and I really felt nice when i wore it for a friend's 40 year celebration. Wore a yellow suede belt to make the outfit tougher. Tried it with a turquoise satin ribbon to and that also works well, but It felt it was too elegant for this event.

Anyway here is the result:

Thanks for looking!
