1  COOKING / Dessert / Cupcakes inspired by a Guinness mixed drink! on: September 17, 2010 10:53:34 PM
So my Mom sent me a link of the top 50 cupcake recipes on the internet so logically I have to make all of them. I started with the Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes. For those of you who don't know what a car bomb is it is a drink where you take a Guinness and add a shot glass filled half way with Bailey's and the other half with Jameson's whiskey.  Once you drop the shot glass into the Guinness you have to drink it real fast or otherwise the beer will curdle.  nasty, but with a cupcake you don't have this nasty problem.

Here is a link to the 50 Best Cupcakes on the Internet
Yay Pictures:

oh and they are very tasty

Thanks Friends!
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Ribs...need I say more on: November 16, 2009 10:10:06 AM
I made theses a while back...the ribs are nothing special but the sauce is.  It's my first time making my own sauce all from scratch.  It turned out really well, I have put it on almost everything (made a really good bbq chicken pizza a week or so ago).

I'm just really in love and figured I would share...

5  COOKING / Dessert / Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes!! on: May 04, 2009 03:29:19 PM
So I have been craving cupcakes and I just could not decide what to make.  But alas while eating a reeses peanut butter cup I knew....chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting. (Sorry about the horrendous pictures best my phone can do aka camera battery died and I cant find the charger).  But anyways I used just a box mix with a homemade frosting.

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Homemade Bagels!!!! on: November 08, 2008 01:04:06 PM
so i was watching the food network last night, which I really should not do because it just makes me want to cook so badly.  Well Diners Drive-ins and dives showed bagels made from scratch soooo when I woke up this morning I just had to try it. I began to cruse around the internet and found this http://www.tammysrecipes.com/homemade_bagels and gave it a try.  They came out great and so good. I cant wait to do it again and try some different flavors...

these are plain and cinnamon sugar

If I could have done one thing differently it would have been to form them better so that the bagels did not "explode" when they were baked.

Thanks for looking!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Beer Cap Resin Table Top!!! (5 pictures) FINISHED PICTURES WITH LEGS!!!!!!!!! on: March 19, 2008 11:22:05 PM
So my friends and I decided that we wanted to make a table for our apartment next year.  However we could not find one we liked and we wanted something unique and a focal point of our living space. So what is a crafter to do make one themselves.

We decided to go with the beer caps after seeing one my god brother made.  We got all of the caps from my brother who lives in a fraternity house at school and ones we found around school.

We went with resin because of the clean look that it gives.  This was my first time working with resin but I think it went really well. Except for the fact that we got halfway through and ran out of resin and had to drive an hour to get more that kind of messed me up.  But I just love how it came out and cant wait to put legs on it when we move in. (does not fit in storage with the legs so we are just adding them later).

We used 2232 caps total (3' x 7' total) so we had a whole lot left over so we made some coasters, just for fun.

Finished Table:

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Giant PS! on: January 29, 2008 10:57:44 AM
My friends and i have a habit of saying PS before we start a story or really just before we say anything important.  Well we are living together next year in an apartment and when you first walk in there is a blank wall and thats just not cool so over the past few days we made a giant PS.  Enjoy them!

This the Finished Product!

The beginning:

Base colors:

Dot dot dot... (we are going to use the cups too just not sure what for) any ideas?

S is almost done: we have added a black outline to all of the green circles

P almost done: the yellow stripes are different sizes and are also outlined in black (this was before we could take the tape off)

we have finished pictures but i did not have my camera but i could not wait to post

thanks for looking!
