21  WWHRD? (now all done!) in Needlework: Completed Projects by torrance on: September 07, 2008 01:05:14 PM

What Would Henry Rollins Do? Now that's a great sentence to live your life by. Or atleast try to. Henry Rollins is pretty much a god to a lot of people.

I'm thinking I should satin stitch the shirt black. I would have, but I ran out of floss. What do you think? I'll most likely make this into a totebag, so I can carry him around at all times.

The embroidery is based on the illustration of the ever so talented Mitch Clem  Kiss

edit: Now the shirt is satin stitched black. And he has the chin dimple an everything:

No, there are no stains. You're just imagining stuff..

This is my first cross stitch for a while. Cross stitching = still fun. And what inspired me to do cross stitching again? It was RachelKristin's Hail Satan (Yeah.. seitan=satan..I'm that clever) https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=266730.0

The chart for the alphabet is from Subversive Cross Stitch

I did a little embroidery piece based on Mitch O'Connell's illustration. I send him an e-mail asked him if it would be ok to use his images as embroidery patterns, and he told me to go crazy Smiley

It's done using 3 strands of yarn.

24  Cyclops Rattle in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by torrance on: July 25, 2008 06:11:08 AM

So a friend of mine is having a baby. So I made the soon-to-be new person a little rattle. It has a bell inside so it actually rattles.

Crochet with 3mm hook and lyric yarn. With no pattern, just made it up as I went along.

25  For My Tattooer in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by torrance on: July 15, 2008 01:57:02 AM
You might get a little deja vu experience with this one. Why? Check out RachelKristin's Heart and Dagger here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=256904.0 What can I say, great minds think alike. Smiley I kid you not. When I saw her finished piece I was actually in the middle of making mine Cheesy

It had been on WIP status for a little while 'cos the metallic floss I used on the dagger was killing me. But when I saw Rachel's gorgeous piece I just had to get mine done too.

The pictures don't really do the metallic floss justice. It looks much better live.

26  Cherry Cell Phone Cozy in Crochet: Completed Projects by torrance on: June 23, 2008 01:20:06 PM
Remember my cherry tutorial? https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=148296.msg1466266#msg1466266 I used it again after a long time.

I used 3mm hook, and lyric yarn.

And why are the cherries back in the game? Cos I needed a new cell phone cozy. Why? Cos I have a new phone. Why? Cos I kinda broke my phone. Why? Cos Im clumsy and concrete and phones don't mix.

I just heard from my partner that she received, but unfortunately can't upload pics.
So here's what I sent to jojo_modjo:

She said she needed a small make up pouch and a coin pouch.

28  Headband With Changeable Charms in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by torrance on: June 04, 2008 02:21:50 AM
I think the title says pretty much it Smiley
I recently cut myself some bangs/fringe/whateveryouwannacallit, and since then I realized that I could use some headbands.
I wanted differently decorated headbands, but the thought of getting so many different headbands didn't appeal to me.

So I bought just one, and made many different decorations to go with it

The simple geniusness behind it:

29  Re: Show Off Your Hair! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by torrance on: June 02, 2008 01:16:26 PM
I just cut me some bangs!

they're still uneven and I have not decided if the length is right.

I've had the same hairstyle for years, and felt it was about time to do something about it. I feel like a kid! I haven't had bangs since I was 9. I'm still not sure if this is the best or the worst hair decision I've ever made Cheesy

here is something of a before pic:

30  Re: I Love BUTTONS Gallery in The Swap Gallery by torrance on: June 02, 2008 03:02:06 AM
I just became the first to receive Smiley
(Unfair... my package to timpani~jax left at least a few hours earlier Tongue)

Anyhow, here are the 20 buttons she sent me:

cute right? I can't really pin point a favourite, but the little flower is pretty darn cute

And here's some jewellery she sent me:

I lovelovelove the earrings! But is it weird that I like the little piece of fabric that they're mounted on maybe a little more? Why can't I get fabric like that in Finland?? Unfair.
I really like the necklace too. It's just a little bit short for my neck, but as a crafty person I can make it work Cheesy

Thanks so much timpani~jax!
