1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Croheting a hat, looking like a mushroom? on: June 13, 2008 07:21:13 AM
Hi all, I'm doing my first crochet project, other than just swatching to try new stitches. I'm doing a hat and I'm only on row 3 and it's looking just like a mushroom. I know there are a lot of "do but not written" things in crochet and I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

FTR, it's done in Dbl crochet. Any takers?
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Does quality yarn REALLY make a difference? on: September 22, 2006 12:48:33 PM
As of now, the only thing I've completed is a scarf. I've been using Acrylic yarn for all my current and future projects. Hobby Lobby is the closest craft store and although they do have some great deals, I tend to shy away from the more expensive yarns.

I've read quite a few posts here talking about Yarn snobs (lol, that makes me giggle) so I'm assuming there are some benefits to more expensive ones. I know that once I get into felting and whatnot I will need wool or natural.

What's your opinion?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Sweater suggestions for a knew knitter? on: September 22, 2006 12:41:56 PM
Hey everyone. I have very recently learned how to knit and I'm already getting too big for my britches. I would like to make a very simple easy sweater. I've browsed many a site and most are too busy for me. I just want a simple V-neck or crew neck sweater, a little longer at the bottom. Does anyone have any patterns or suggest any sweaters they've made to fit what I'm looking for? There have been a lot I've loved but look a little daunting to a new knitter. Thanks so much for your input!
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / MicroFiber blocked umm...artpiece on: September 22, 2006 11:14:38 AM
Hi Everyone, newb here. I just wanted to post something I did last weekend that I'm wicked proud of! DH and I just got a new bed with new bedding as well. I have been unable to decorate until we got things situated. I finally got to create something for over the bed.

Dh is a stickler for "boring" colors so I was trying to jazz up the room a bit.

I took 8 5x7 canvases, 2 yards of microfiber fabric, cotton batting, buttons and a staple gun.

After assembling it, I mounted them all on a piece of cardboard instead of hanging 8 seperate canvases (i'm horrible at spacing anyways)

This is how it turned out!

And this is before I hung it (so you can see how puffy it is)

I hope you like!
Thanks for looking
