1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Bros before Hos on: April 19, 2007 12:52:12 PM
After taking a very long crafting hiatus I finally got inspired to make something.

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Family Tree en espanol on: March 24, 2007 12:27:07 PM
I want to make my boyfriend a family tree journal that he can complete himself.  The catch being that he is from guatemala and his first language is spanish, so I would really like to make it in spanish.  This presents a problem because english is my 1st and only language.  Any idea where I might be able to find a family tree template in spanish?  It would be much more special if I could make it completely in spanish (and correct spanish) but I really don't want to ask  him for help since it will be a surprise.

Also I've never really done any book binding and would greatly appreciate any tutorials or references.

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / my first few screens ever on: April 04, 2006 06:20:46 PM
so recently i've been attempting to learn to screen print.  i have had the equipment for months, but for whatever reason was too intimidated to try.  that is until one of my friends showed me how easy it really was to use photo emulsion.

here are the first couple shirts i've printed:

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / projects for flannel? on: April 20, 2005 07:32:37 PM
so i have lots of fabric. i worked at a fabric store for over 5 years and never came home from work without something.  i have a lot of really cute flannel prints.  i'm not sure what i bought them for at the time, maybe to make pajama pants or something.  but now i don't know what to do with all of them.  can anyone think of some projects that would be a good use for all this flannel?  something other than pajama pants or bags?
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / skull hanky on: April 18, 2005 06:07:36 PM
i made my boyfriend a hanky and embroidered a skull & crossbones on it.  it's perfect for him because he's always blowing his nose, and i figured if it turned out like crap it really didn't matter. since he would just be using it as a snot rag.

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / twizzler crafts? on: February 03, 2005 11:54:00 AM
so i'm looking for something not to crazy to give the new boy i've been seeing for valentines.  i know he loves twizzlers, so can anyone think of anything creative to make out of/with twizzlers?  just a thought.
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / quilted color wheel on: January 26, 2005 11:33:51 AM
This is really the only quilt project I have done.  I'm more into sewing clothing and purses.  Last year I was in a Color Theory class and we were assigned a project to make a color wheel out of the color-aid paper that we were required to buy for the class.  I didn't want to do that.  I wanted to make it out of fabric.  And since I worked at Hancock Fabrics at the time, I had prime access to thousands of different fabrics.  I didn't even tell my teacher that I was going to make mine out of fabric, I figured I would just surprise him and hopefully he would like it and all would be good.

The project turned out to be much more involved that I thought.  I spent over 3 hours in the fabric store, multiple times, trying to match 100's of color samples.  I made do with what I could find, and this is how it turned out.
