They`re all gorgeous!!  My favourite is nr. 3.  Did you sew that from a pattern, or did you design it yourself?   Smiley

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / HELP!! How to cut fabric for skirt on the bias - pics anyone?? on: February 02, 2007 01:21:13 PM
Im going to sew the skirt from the pattern in "Sew U".  And I want to cut my fabric (a tartan) on the bias.

The book explains every step in detail - exept for how to lay out the fabric for cutting on the bias.

The pattern for the front of the skirt is a half-pattern, supposed to be laid out at the fold of the fabric.  But how do I fold the fabric - which way?

Probably a stupid question, but this fabric was quite expensive and I really dont want to mess it up...  I tried searching the forum, but could not find any info on this (then again, Im lousy at search phrases in English, so it might very well already be here)

If someone has a picture of laying out fabric and pattern for bias cutting, I would be sooo happy!  Thank you!  Smiley Smiley

Ohhh she's so pretty!
Regal indeed! She is like the green king (was the good guy) in a story my grandmother used to read to me, with the red king and the green king Smiley
I love it!

P.S. I through a look over your blog and simply love your style!

Thank you!  Smiley Smiley
That sounds like such a nice story!  Is it from a book, or is a story your grandmother made for you?

My youngest daughter is 5 years old today, and I made her this birthday dress from a vintage (70`s) pattern.  She loved it!  I altered the pattern a little bit to eliminate the need for a zipper (I dont know how to insert one and did not have the time to learn that  Embarrassed  )
