1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Ruffled Dress & Butterfly Princess on: May 01, 2011 12:26:32 PM
I finally got my hands on some of that ruffled fabric.  And then I went back and bought two more kinds.  I cannot wait to make some more things with the ruffles!

Here is my dd's dress.  She wanted a long dress!  I am not sure why because she is so active - riding bikes, horses, and climbing and such.  But here is the dress:

One day I will figure out how to take a photo where the hem or pant legs don't look uneven.

Next, this was a custom for a little lady's birthday.  She likes pink and frilly.  So here is a butterfly princess dress.  The fabrics are also glittery to give a little more frilly to this little lady.  The photos are shown with a pettiskirt underneath.

Thanks for looking!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / For my little Agent P on: August 31, 2010 09:28:57 AM
My dd is so into Perry right now.  But she will only wear dresses or skirts.  So what is a mama to do?  Upcycle of course!!!

I cannot wait for her to get home today and see the new dress.  This is her favorite style of dress.

Thanks for looking!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Thing 1 & 2 and Princesses & tees (IMG heavy) on: July 21, 2010 11:13:06 AM
My son was in need of new jammies.  So I made him about 7 new sets.  This is the one he wanted to wear for photos:

I don't know if this is good or not (encouraging the princess thing).  But I only have one daughter, I can sew and she loves her princess dresses.  She will only be young once - right?

Pink Princess:

Yellow Princess:

Just for good measure - my youngest needed new tees.  So here are some ringer tees in little size.

Thanks for looking.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Some things to share... on: June 18, 2010 09:02:21 PM
Here are just a couple of things I have been working on lately.  I love the Angie shirt - modified into a dress as my dd only wears dresses.

Same dress - different fabrics:

I really enjoyed making this set of brother/sister outfits.

A pillowcase dress:

Short set:

Insa skirt:

And Otto tank & short set:

Thanks for letting me share!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Just some things...(lots of photos) on: December 29, 2008 05:04:49 AM
I have not shared in quite a while.  Here are some of my favorites from the last month.

This was a "Mommy, I don't have a Christmas dress to wear to school today!"  So what does a good sewing mama do - make a olivia of course.  I had to trace a new size as she has grown - but she did not want a pocked or hood so it made this one go quicker.  The fabrics are flap happy from TFF.

I thought I had a modeled shot but I cannot find it.

A Christmas redondo set.  I love the lettuce edge with a variegated woolly nylon (red, green & white).

Some nightgowns & lounge sets:

This one is too small for the mannequin.

An OBV hoodie and yoga pants for a gift.

Just a note the tinkerbell embroidery is a licensed design built into my machine (I cannot sell anything with it on it - this is gift).

I love this vida.  I drafted the doll vida.

If you care to see more detail, I am working on updating my blog with more photos.  Thanks for looking!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little Red Riding Hood Twirling Dress on: August 09, 2008 11:34:54 PM
I have not shared here in a little while.  This dress was a fun creation so I thought I would share.  A customer ordered a twirling dress and asked if I could special order some fabric for it. She loved this Japanese imported Little Red Riding Hood fabric paired with another Japanese apple print. This is the result. My daughter is the same size and the customer was fine with her modeling the dress for some photos.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Twist top, a-line skirt & gauchos on: July 27, 2008 07:35:42 PM
I really the style of this top.  It does not fit my dress form great.  It is a Kwik Sew pattern that I modified the neckline.  The skirt is a yoga style aline skirt.

Modeled (not me):

I also made a pair of gaucho to go with the top too.  The gaucho also have a yoga style waistband.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Dinosaur Raglan & Cargo Set (IMG Heavy) on: July 22, 2008 09:25:33 AM
I really enjoyed making this set.  It is sized 10/12.  The shirt is a curved raglan.  The pants have 6 pockets - 2 hip, 2 front with flaps, & 2 pleated back pockets with flaps.  Also with this set is a pair of boxer briefs to match.  If you can to see more detail the photos on my blog are clickable.

With the boxer briefs:

It is nice to make things for boys too!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Just a few things...Levis & Twirly on: July 02, 2008 02:49:37 PM
I have no SNS in a little while.  So here are some of the things I have been doing lately.

First up - Levi's for my ds.  These were made from his daddy's old Levi's.

Next - I love this fabric.  I am down to my last little bit of it.  I may have to buy some more.  The top is sort of a hermosa - but only the twirly part really.  The capris are from otto (2/05) IIRC.  I think that issue is my most used issue.

Last one - this set was made for a little girl back in my home town.  To top is a halter top with a tie-back to close in the back.

There are more photos of things in my blog if you are interested.

Thanks for looking.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Paris Ruffled Capris on: June 08, 2008 08:26:32 AM
The first time I saw the ruffled culottes in the Chasing Fireflies catalog, I could not wait for the opportunity to make a pair.  My daughter will not wear them because it is not a dress.  So I took a chance and thought I would make them for the birthday swap.  Moon if you are looking and you think your daughter would prefer a dress/skirt (I can always send a redondo).

This fabric had been sitting on my shelf for a little while.  I liked it when I purchased it but did not know what I wanted to do with it.  Then this project came about and it was perfect.  The embroidery design was free on sewforum at one time (IIRC).

I started with a capri pants pattern and added the ruffles to the back and bottom.  The top is a modified top from otto.  I shirred instead of encased elastic and added tie-backs instead of shirring.

So much for the book - here are the photos:
