7321  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ SEPT on: September 03, 2008 02:55:51 PM
I'm trying to catch up. I have now done first 4 squares and 2 fillers.

And you'll probably get caught up before me. Wink Can't wait to see your squares- if they are as lovely as last year's set, I will be jealous!

What have people get as a count for each side on outside round 1? Is it 16 sc per side, with the 2 ch-sp in the corner? Im just getting a little confused. Smiley

I found it confusing as well.  I had 16 on two sides and 17 on the other two.  I compensated by ignoring the exact letter of the pattern.  When I came to round 2, I just made sure that I had the same number of shells and dc on each side, even if it meant only skipping 1dc instead of the recommended 2.

I hope this didn't confuse you more!   Shocked

See, this is why I'm really behind! I need to wait for other folks to figure out and solve all of the pattern glitches Wink

The fuzzy one is fabulous, and the paper ones are so clever! And, the pillow one just looks cuddly...makes me want to take a nap!

Love this swap...

I love how the recipe book came out! Hmmm... I wonder if I could re-format what I've been working on to make it do that... probably not because Word and I just don't get along...

But, I can make the Word file and the PDF available so folks who are more Word-savvy than I can do it on their own...

And, I just got one of those rolling pin recipe holders as a shower favor, and I love it! So clever and cute.

myklia -- i sometimes find that different hooks (either brands or styles) respond to the yarn better than others. ya know what i mean how some of the hooks are "pointy" and some are "flat", maybe if you have another hook of the same size you could try that, the yarn may not split so much.

I have the same problem with Simply Soft, but I try to work around it because I love it! I don't use if for amigurumi (I use Red Heart), but I love it for granny squares!

And, the send out date on my big swap that I was way behind on just got extended. So, I'll be filling out my questionnaire in a bit!

Wow! Those star afghans are fantastic! I just hope that you get to share the one you made for your hubby Wink

I love the placemats, too! I can't imaging making a dozen though (crafting ADD here...). But, I love the simple look of them, and the variety of fabrics on the strip. I might have to make a set (a small set Wink  ) like them for my dining room.

The organizers are such a neat idea! I could probably use one, since things have a habit of disappearing (anyone seen my checkbook?) around here.

Thanks so much for extending the deadline. Today was my first day back at school with kids, and even though I have a light class load, I was walking all over the building and I am wiped out! So now, I can crash early tonight and not feel excessively guilty. I did get one set of items done and I got my partner's item in the mail. And, yesterday, mine wasn't finished. But today, I decided to make the lining of my pillowcase lunch bag removable so that I could wash it easier. So now, I don't have to sew it in, and I consider it finished!

I still have Poppets to work on- a bigger task than I realized, but now I can do it in slightly smaller chunks. Whew! Tanza, I'm sorry it'll be later, but it will be better as a result!
