7001  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along on: December 28, 2008 02:55:20 PM
Here's my #16! I made it on Christmas day with some yarn I got in my stocking. My mom only had a K hook, so it was going to be huge! I cut the number of starting chains to 30, but it still came out wide. I didn't make it a square because it would have been waaay too big. So, it's rectangular, instead. It's the cross stitch cloth (the one further down on the list: http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/crossstichcloth.html). It was very easy, and stitched up pretty quickly, too!

NeZHaX, those sets came out so cute! Did you stamp the images on? I really like the look of them! I still have a few blank sets of my own to play with, and I might give this style a go...

And, I'm in the process of uploading pics of the sets I received! Back in a bit!

Here are my sets from hngoodlett!

First up- Wonder Woman!!! (Start humming theme song now...)

Now, if only I could get someone to make me an invisible jet... Wink

And, my next set is for my Celtic theme (I think that was one of my themes, but I can't remember! Tough getting old...). It's a gorgeous hand-embroidered Celtic knot, done with a variegated green floss... It's beautiful, and it may have to be shown off in public Wink

It's so perfectly stitched, too! It looks crooked in the pic, but that's because the comforter that is modeling it is lumpy...

Thanks, Heather!

I finally got my cable/internet back, so I am finally starting to feel normal again!

No electricty- 5 days
No heat- 12 days
No cable/internet- 16 days
Finally able to get back on Craftster- Priceless!

I'll be doing another status/feedback update in a bit. I think I've heard from the folks who need fixin' (sorry about that- I haven't been home, and internet access was very limited, so my notes were a bit scattered). But, if I still seem to be missing something, please let me know.

Hopefully, the mail gremlins will start behaving and get the last few packages delivered Wink I'm sure they'll be worth the wait!

Wow! I am impressed with the awesome afghans, ladies!

zombiecazz, I love how you pulled all of the colors together with the black. It gives the whole thing such a funky, curl-up-on-the-couch feel!

MiLady, I am extra impressed that you finished the whole thing (with multiples of each square) in such a short time. Your cousin really has no clue as to your accomplishment, but we do!

susief00, I really like the color scheme you chose! And, the variegated you used complements it so nicely!

I am still behind, and won't be finished this week, but I finally got my cable/internet back on today (Ice storm... 5 days with no electricty, 12 days with no heat/hot water, 16 days with no cable/internet)! I was a bit worried that I wouldn't have the internet back in time to start the thread for the 2009 CAL! I'll be working on the first square today, so hopefully, I can post it when I start the thread!

I will be finishing my 2008 afghan, because now I have a recipient- I'll be giving it to my neighbor who was so kind and sweet while I was having all of my storm related problems. So, I'll be working on it with a renewed sense of purpose Wink

I love the log pillow, and the fabrics used for everything else are fantastic!

SnapsAndDrangons, thanks for putting together a fantastic angel package! I love the wire tree!! You rock!

I'd really rather be working. It stinks having to deal with the snow shoveling when I finally get home tomorrow (the driveway has to be cleared for the repair guys) and knowing I have to make up the days in the heat of June!

And, I'm going to update feedback right now. Check the first page and your profile and if I miss anything, my patient swappers ( Wink ), please send me a PM, and I'll try to correct it ASAP. Thanks!

Hi Ladies!

I just wanted to let you know that I am currently without heat (ruptured pipes, covered in asbestos, boiler needs to be replaced after asbestos is removed... ick, grr...). So, I'm staying with friends and will be checking in later this weekend (maybe tonight if they don't lose power in the rapidly approaching storm). Or Sunday... in that storm... Just one of the pleasures of winter in New England Wink

I'm sorry for those of you waiting to get feedback! The best news I've had lately is that a portion of our field trip in January is free! Just goes to show you how things are going...

Due to an ice storm, I've been without power since Friday, and have no idea when it will be restored.

Me too! It's putting a damper on my Christmas crafting to be away from all of my supplies, that's for sure... Tongue

I was able to bring a few things with me ( I finished a scarf and made 2 hats!), but there is so much more I could be doing if I was at home... Looks like I'll be doing a bit of last minute shopping Tongue

Yeah... I brought a scarf and a couple of dishcloths and thread bookmarks with me, but time has been scarce trying to make sure things are all set with the outages. I'll be doing some last minute shopping too... thank goodness for Christmas Tree Shops!!!

Don't you just love a bargain!
Wink

I actually have to work tomorrow (although we may have a delay), and then I have a personal day on Thursday and my brother is coming to cut up fallen tree parts. So, I can grab some more craft supplies, before I head to a friend's house to stay. I don't know how much crafting I'll be able to do at her house (she has 3 kids), but I'll do my best Wink  Granny's Daughters are a definite!
