6831  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2009 12" Squares- January on: January 08, 2009 06:07:25 PM
or I forgot to do the ch2, but that was all me... Grin Did you work out where you were having troubles?

I think this was the issue for me too Smiley

Yeah, and it stinks because you don't notice it until you're at the same point on the next round. I have learned to check each side of the square before I turn the corner. Of course, I don't always remember... and that's usually when I've made a mistake Wink

ebonettecrochette, your square is lookin' good so far!

knkurz, interesting modification! It makes your square look "artsy." In a good way Wink

fochaux, I didn't encounter any troubles, except when I did sc instead of dc, or I forgot to do the ch2, but that was all me... Grin Did you work out where you were having troubles?

class is gonna be rough this sememster, even the thought of having to cut back on swaps makes me sad Cry.  hopefully the few that I'm in will be low key enough to allow me to stay in, I think I'm gonna try and just maybe crochet ahead when I have time for this one.

I know what you mean! We had a visit by our superintendent the other day, and today we got the word that she wasn't altogether happy with what she saw. So, the whip will be cracking, which means extra work at home in the evenings... So, swaps like this will be about all I'll be able to handle...

I still have my last few to make, and I was hoping to finish this weekend (with end weaving, too!), but I have to work on a grant instead...

pjherbert, I'm so sorry to hear you broke your leg, and then broke it again! But, look on the bright side... it wasn't your arm, so you can still crochet Wink

Hope you can get to the yarn store soon!

Uh-oh! Tomorrow, we may have another snow day here in MA (I'll be in school until the end of June, at this rate!). If so, I'll just have to spend my day crafting... provided I don't lose my electricity... At least I don't need electricity to crochet Wink

Well, I think it's an amazing way to display the shirts. He can see them all at once! At least you know your BIL will love his Wink

Is the "crochet over" technique basically what it sounds like? Like, instead of weaving, I would just crochet over the yarn end?

That is for the inside circle you do that.  I was so glad for learning that right away.  I had watched YouTube videos and they all did that.  I highly recommend it.

Okay, you've convinced me... as soon as I pick out the yarn for the last few, I'll try it Wink
