1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R9 Gallery on: September 23, 2017 04:20:46 PM
Wow! That spinner patch is fantastic, and I agree, that there are no bad choices! I love saying the word "anemones" and  so that patch is extra special (and I've said that expression several time sin my life Smiley ). And a frog twinchie! I also love frogs, and that patch is very cute!

Joyful Clover, excellent job on the Sesame Street patch! I can still remember them from my younger days! And, I'm not familiar with 'Gravity Falls,' but the detail on that patch, right down to the awesome 'Firefly' reference, is amazing!

Great job, ladies!

Outstanding! And, I love that bunny1kenobi's project was featured because it can generate even more Craftster love (and help)!

Well done, as always, Nerds! Way to dominate the Featured Projects board!

Mountain lions! I've heard they can appear farther north in New England, but I don't think we'll see one down here.

And, thanks for the size info!

craftADDchick - Thank you.  Smiley  Such pretty zip bags!!  I am particularly fond of the blue and purple bags.  Smiley

Thanks, greybird! The purple fabric had a very vintage look to it- nice and soft looking. I bought my zippers first, then had to match them when I bought my fabrics at a different store. It was a bit of a challenge to find fabrics that matched (and were also decent looking). Smiley

Thank you so much, craftADDchick!  It's not too late at all! We've had some family crises to manage and I haven't had time to sew even one more pouch. Between that, and trying to finish up the 12 Days swap, and then all of the normal Mom-stuff that comes with life... yeah, been a bit busy.

Excellent! And, I might not make the post office today (I have to stay late after school), but everything will be packed and ready for me to drop off tomorrow! And, I'm sending the pouches inside out- I can pack th flat thT way Smiley

Gozer update: She's doing ok. She's very tired, pretty much all the time. Not feeling like herself at all, but she's strong and she's getting through it. I know that she is looking forward to being back to normal, that's for sure!

bunny1kenobi-
* Nice job on the surprise for Smiley! Did you do that freehand, or use a stencil?
*And, I love the yarn colors you used for your scarves! Its hard to believe that winter weather is going to be here in a couple of months!

Thank you! It was a stencil, actually. I'm not that artistically gifted.  Grin

Don't sell yourself short Smiley

And, here are my little zipper bags! I hope it's not too late! After work tomorrow, I'll be boxing them up with some lotions (I have way too many bottles of lotion... I get them as gifts, and almost never use them because I have sensitive skin. I pulled out the ones that hadn't been used, of course Grin ) and hitting the post office. Today, a friend was checking for me about how to properly package up liquids and she'll tell me tomorrow.

Prompt:  Brownie Points #1
Team: Maker
Bonus Points: Giver
Project Name: Zipper Pouches for bunny1kenobi
Project Link: bunny1kenobi's tutorial link is here
Brief Description: I'm sending these along to bunny1kenobi for her women's shelter project!
Project Picture:

I finally got the fabric cut out late last night, and stitched them up while I was doing the laundry. Now, I have to dig out a shirt (because I know I have one somewhere) that I can wear to work tomorrow for Talk Like a Pirate Day!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Many Have Eaten Here.... on: September 18, 2017 05:59:31 PM
I just saw this in the "Threads you might like" panel, and had to click on it! I love everything about it! I love the sentiment, the fork for the nose, the sneaky little chef's hat, and the color palette! Nicely done!

Well, at least mice are easy to deal with, and it's definitely better than bears! And, glad some rain has made it your way. Maybe some moisture from a hurricane can make its way north for you... but probably not, the way our weather patterns go Sad  When does snow usually start to fly up your way?

I think we have our normal amount of bears, perhaps fewer deer as I haven't seen any in a few weeks. We are at just below 4000' and generally get our first snow in October some time. But we can see snow above 5000' starting this time of year, usually. Last year our first snow was mid-Sept! But it didn't stick around and I think even by Thanksgiving we didn't have any accumulation. We're west of the divide so get all our weather from the Pacific side of things!  Wink

"Normal" amount of bears- LOL! We had one in the neighborhood (mama with 2 cubs) a couple of years ago, and it was big news. I live in a city, but towards the edge, not far from a reservoir so we get occasional visitors- I've seen deer, foxes, hawks, and frequently of late, wild turkeys. We've had a moose on the loose in the area several years back (before I lived in this part of the city).

I have a question about your towels- what size are they?

storerboughtcreations-
*Thanks for the extra info on how you crocheted around the tennis ball! ANd, that knitted frog came out super cute, so Id say it was worth the extra trouble to knit around the tennis ball on that one. And, if it gives it some bounce, its even better!
*I love both of your sock monkeys! I love how you made the first one look like the traditional sock monkey, but changed it up a bit with the second one. And its so great that on the second one, the striped yarn is reminiscent of a box of chocolate/strawberry/vanilla ice cream (Neapolitin!)
*And, holy cow! I think I like the Frankenstein sweater even better than the candy corn version (which I loved). Now, I really, really want an adult version of the pattern!
*Your little red bunny is so cute! And, what an excellent, yet subtle, way to sway your niece to become a Gryffindor Smiley

roler-
*Your kitty magnet is adorable. I love the sweet little face and the flower. And, the bell is a nice touch (it will keep all of your felt birds safe!).

LovelyMiss-
*I would love to take your junk journal class! Like collage work, I dont seem to have the knack for taking random items and creating a cohesive work with them.

Smeddley-
*Monster Mack is fantastic! And, good for you for figuring out the pattern. I love his round little belly, and they eyeball is ace!

QueenHobo-
*Your Harry Potter cross-stitch is pretty funny! And, I like the added nod to Gryffindor Smiley
*I really, really like your Tardis LOVE square! I cant wait to see the blanket when its completed. Will you also have one with 2 hearts on it?
*Your BB8 stuffie is so cute! I love how its a basic shape, but the detail stitching really brings it to life! Well, as much life as a droid can have Grin
*Your Hogwarts scarf blanket is spectacular! And, Im glad you included the baby for scale, so we could appreciate how massive it truly is!
*I really like the fluffy blanket, too (and Beast, Jr. is a cutie), The scalloped edge is so sweet looking!
*I also really like the edging that you did on the baby boy blanket. Thats a lot of color changes!

Mountains and Clouds-
*That mask is fabulous! And yes, a mask would make a great raffle prize! My sister used to collect masks, but she got rid of most of them. Yours would have fit in nicely with her collection!
*And, I dont know what it is about the little lidded pots you make, but I love them! I think it must be connected to my odd fascination with soup tureens Smiley
*I really like the shape of those cups, the color of the glaze, and the little carved bits. It must be a challenge to pick just the right time to do the carving, though. The clay cant be too wet, or too dry.
*And, The Sketchbook Project is so fun! I love how much freedom they give you (like allowing you to swap out the paper). Youll have to share some of your pages with us when its finished (and maybe share the catalog #, too the next time I visit Brooklyn, I can check it out when I visit the ones my sister and I did).

bunny1kenobi-
* Nice job on the surprise for Smiley! Did you do that freehand, or use a stencil?
*And, I love the yarn colors you used for your scarves! Its hard to believe that winter weather is going to be here in a couple of months!

rockingbearranch-
*What a great little Halloween plaque! I love how its a nice combo of creepy (with the spiders), and cute (with the jack-o-lantern).
*And, wow! That laser cut house is amazing! The level of detail that you can get is unbelievable!
*Your Halloween pom-pom reminds me of one of the decorations my mom had when I was a kid (I think I have it tucked away somewhere). It was the style made out of a bunch of little plastic pieces melted together, and she had a Jack-o-lantern one (also a witch, plus a turkey for Thanksgiving).

greybird-
*I love the bracelet and earring sets! Im sure that whoever receives them will love them. Ill have to check out Operation Christmas Child and think about donating next year.
*Your little bird ATC is super cute. And, she definitely has the power stance down!
*Its so neat to see how using different materials completely changes the look of your cherry drawing. What a neat exercise!
*I really like the floral necklace- the color scheme is so soothing, and I love the variety of beads that you used. Its a nicely balanced design!
*The pearl bracelet is equally lovely. Great combination of beads, and I like the clasp arrangement!
*Your Be Awesome journal came out great. I love the use of the typewriter key as the clasp!

And thank you for your thoughts. We got got a couple days of light, steady rain here and snow higher up where the main fire is which has helped slow the fire and diminished the smoke quite a bit for us. And the path of the fire is such that is finally seems to have passed us. Of course, that doesn't mean all are safe. And all the critters... I suppose this fire had at least something to do with several houses in our "neighborhood" being hit hard by mice this summer.

Well, at least mice are easy to deal with, and it's definitely better than bears! And, glad some rain has made it your way. Maybe some moisture from a hurricane can make its way north for you... but probably not, the way our weather patterns go Sad  When does snow usually start to fly up your way?
