And today I got a super surprise in the mail, I lovely fabric origami poinsettia. Thank you so much!

Yes, I did, following very specific instructions from the toddler ("Put the yellow zig zig there Mommy!").  Tongue

Truly awesome costume, nicely done!
5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Kaylee: Shiny. on: November 06, 2016 01:46:15 PM
I love it! Kaylee has been on my list of costumes that I want to make for quite some time....but somehow I never seem to have the time to actually do it. Yours turned out wonderfully!
6  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Cotton Ball Ghost on: November 06, 2016 01:42:52 PM
Yet another toddler Halloween craft. We made a ghost puppet by cutting a ghost shape out of cardboard, and gluing on cotton balls, a paper mouth, googly eyes, and a Popsicle stick handle.

7  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Toilet Paper Tube Monster on: November 06, 2016 01:38:54 PM
Another in the " my toddler loves Halloween Crafts" series. We made monsters by decorating toilet paper tubes with sharpies. Then we added arms and legs (with paper hands and feet) by punching holes in the tubes and twisting or taping pipe cleaners on. We finished them off with glued on googly eyes.

8  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Q-Tip Skeleton on: November 06, 2016 12:24:57 PM
My young daughter loves Halloween and crafts, so I tried to come up with lots of easy Halloween craft projects for her this year. One of her favorites is this skeleton. We made it out of Q-tips that we glued onto paper. The hips are cotton balls, and the skull is paper with googly eyes glued on.

Nicely done! I'm sure your daughter will love it! (My 3 year old plays with her play kitchen all the time...gives me a nice break  Tongue)
10  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Handmade Adult Owl Halloween Costume on: November 06, 2016 12:03:16 PM
We let our daughter choose our Halloween costumes this year, she decided that Dad had to be an Owl so I got to work making his costume. I hand sewed the mask out of felt (using a modified kids mask pattern as a basic template) with embroidered feathers on it. Then I sewed muslin wings onto an old shirt, made a feather stamp out of an old foam leaf stamp (I cut out a bunch of bits of the leaf stamp with an exacto blade to get a nice feather stamp), and stamped the front of the shirt and wings with 3 different colors of acrylics. While that was drying I cut out thousands of fabric feathers. I then glued them all on the back of the wings and the sides and arms of the shirt using Fabri Tac fabric glue. When it was dry I declared the costume complete. (Originally I was going to make shorts and a tail to go with it as well, but after gluing over a thousand feathers I decided that enough was enough). My husband wore it trick or treating, he said it was a bit heavy, but overall it was comfortable. All in all a successful costume.
