21  Re: Steampunk swap goodies in The Swap Gallery by HelenM on: March 26, 2008 01:57:39 PM
As redheadgeek has not been well enough to get on line, and after discussing it with JoyousBohemian, I decided to post photos of what I sent her.

I sent her some lacy fingerless gloves and scarflet, a decoupaged photo frame (or 'A Device for the Retention of Memories' Tongue) and a necklace.

The frame - this isn't the exact one I sent, which was nicer, but I forgot to photograph it before I sent it. Luckily I'd made more than one  Cheesy

The gloves

I hope she liked them but any comments would be gratefully recieved  Grin

22  Re: Something to B*tch About Swap (aka The Deb Stoller Swap) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by HelenM on: March 26, 2008 01:49:29 PM
An action shot, at last. I had to find an item of clothing that wasn't black so you can actually see the belt  Tongue

I love everything I got but the bird brooch was a very nice surprise.

Everyone else's items are lovely too. I'm particularly liking the bag normashelleyjean got  Grin

Thanks Pinkleo for being an awesome swap partner  Cheesy

PS The tiny text on my t-shirt says 'Repeat from * to end for her pleasure'. The knitters should get that...

Wow, lovely package SilverWing. I bet your partner is thrilled even if you haven't heard from her.

As uknowuluvit's camera is playing up here are the photos of the other items I sent her. The bag, which she's already posted, (and a bookmark) were for her study harder resolution.

These were for her 'craft more' resolution:

The book is for keeping fabric samples in, especially as she wanted to try quilting more. Plus another bookmark some other crafty bits and pieces.

And finally, the 'keep the house clean' I made a wipe clean check-list of chores, plus some little household tip things. That's a very technical term of course  Tongue

I put magnets on the back so it could stick to a fridge or oven.

24  Wish Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by HelenM on: February 26, 2008 02:01:44 PM
Here is my lovely wish scarf. The pattern is (once again!) from Let's Knit magazine (a UK publication). It's made from two balls of Rowan Tapestry in Lead Mine. I'm really pleased with the result. Any comments gratefully received.

Close-up of the pattern:

Wow, awesome artwork! The pen strokes really add to it. I'm also loving the little cog/clockwork jars, the jewellery and the scarf/ruff.

I have also received, and, despite being a bit slack in getting these posted, here are my AMAZING goodies!

Upon opening my package I found this:

My very own airship!!!! Once I'd removed this I found *the* most amazing goggles:

I love them. I took them to roleplay at the weekend because I'm currently playing a pilot. And now I have my own goggles! The mix of brass and leather is awesome!

Finally, I got a lovely brass key on a leather thong:

Thank you so so much Redheadgeek!

PS Your package has arrived in the US and is awaiting delivery, apparently!

Here are the photos of my swap goodies, at long last! The resolutions uknowuluvit crafted for (I'm presuming. Unfortunately the package was opened in the post and the note got lost Sad) were 1) exercise more, 2) try a new craft and 3) overcome my fear of circular needles.

On to the crafts!

She made me a hair band for exercising, sent me some fimo to try a new craft and also made me an ingenious circular needle holder.

Close-up of the holder:

Thanks uknowuluvit!

PS I have photos of the other things I made you if you need me to post them.

27  Foxy wrap! in Knitting: Completed Projects by HelenM on: February 16, 2008 02:16:10 PM
My Foxxy Wrap. The pattern was from a UK magazine, Let's Knit, and uses Sirdar Foxy in Arctic Fox. This is basically a fun fur but knitted up really well to look like faux fur. I wore it to my work Christmas party and on New Year's Eve. I'm very proud of it Cheesy The pattern is basically a long rectangle shaped with decreases at either end and finished with ribbon.

28  Christmas Danica Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by HelenM on: February 16, 2008 01:56:40 PM
A little belated but here is the Danica scarf (pattern on Knitty) that I made for my dad for Christmas. It's made from Sirdar Chunky with Wool. My dad only tucks scarves into his coat so i didn't make it massively long. I used a little under two balls in each colour.

The whole thing:

and a close-up of the entrelec:

Thanks for looking  Cheesy

29  Re: Quant -along? knitty winter '07 in Knitalongs by HelenM on: December 15, 2007 06:47:48 AM
So I have finally cast on. Here's my progress so far:

It's knitted out of Noro Kureyon. I love how the colours are coming out, but I'm looking forward to the next upcoming batch of colours  Smiley

30  Re: Once You Pop Round 5 - Holiday Edition GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by HelenM on: November 26, 2007 12:50:22 PM
I received my can from BonBabbu!

The can and my amazing unexpected bonus gift - the Knitwits Book Grin I'm already eyeing up a collar pattern.

My awesome trees, one fabric, one felted. I wanted something for my desk at work and, as I can't decide which would look best, I'm going to take them both in (though not till December!)

You can also see the edge of the Christmas bear-peg card holder which I've just realised doesn't appear properly in any of the photos.

Finally, the lovely bracelets (the green disc one has been worn already), beautiful beaded decorations and my bonus dice! I love dice and BonBabbu must have hunted one down for me especially  Cheesy

Thanks BonBabbu! And thanks again to our lovely organisers.
