21  No job + lots of wool =... (lots of pics!) in Crochet: Completed Projects by all cut up on: October 10, 2006 09:25:49 PM
I managed to find some wool at Value Village (my new favourite store).  Here is what became of most of it!

This one is one row of single, two rows of double in purple and then five rows of white double.

This is one row of single, and then 1double and one ch in every other spot.

The hat is for my sister and the scarf is for my boyfriend.  The hat was really simple to make (free lion brand pattern) although I didn't have the right wool so I had to make it again since my gauge was completely off.

22  Baby Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by all cut up on: September 17, 2006 06:56:27 PM
I've been crocheting for a while now, but never venture outside the beloved scarf.  The look of patterns always scared me a little, until I found this one.

It was surpisingly easy and the whole hat only took me a few hours.  I had some leftover yarn so I used that and a 4.5 hook.  It came out smaller than the pattern said, and it's not very warm (more for the early spring/fall).  Since I only used one colour, I braided some white yarn and threaded it through it to add some contrast.  Anyways, here it is!

I also have a question.  How can I get the edges to stop rolling up?  this is a problem I have with everything I crochet.  I have tried adjusting my tension but it doesn't work.  Any ideas?
