1  Re: Spoil My Doll swap in The Swap Gallery by Maltiriel on: September 22, 2008 03:41:33 PM
So I finally had time to get some photos of the awesome stuff thanate sent last night (thanks again thanate, everyone just loves everything you sent!).  All my dolls are works in progress still, so forgive the occasional nudity and wiglessness. Wink  Also I had a bit of a hard time getting good photos, so I took a zillion including close-ups, and you can see all of them on my Flickr.

Here's the awesome cape and bracelets for Starshine, who wants to be a superhero:

The thread on the cape glows in the dark (Starshine loves glow in the dark!) and so do the bracelets, which are really pony beads.  Awesome idea!

Here are the lovely things for Cordelia, excluding her apron:

There's a loveseat with pillows, a basket, tarot cards, and a hat box containing 3 necklaces and a bracelet.  They're all just her taste and just her size!

And here's Cordelia modeling her apron, admiring her tarot cards and a necklace  (it was a little late to be taking her head off otherwise she'd be wearing the necklace Wink ):

She really loves everything, and so do I!

Now here are Mammon and Faith with their wonderful loot:

They received 2 bean bag chairs (in the perfect colors), a toy box, dice, playing cards, and a space ship.  There was also a hat box and dress (which she's modeling) for Faith, and a map to Hershey Pennsylvania along with a compass and notebook for Mammon.  They got so spoiled!  Mammon can't wait to go adventuring, and they've already played many games with the cards. Wink

And a close up of the compass and notebook, and of the dress with its adorable embroidered heart:

There were also some adorable mini flower pots and a cat calendar! Shown here with Cordelia for size:

And finally copies of the patterns for the dress and apron, along with some coordinating fabric so I can make matching accessories (thank you SO much for these thanate, it was just so thoughtful of you!):

Thanks for everything thanate, we really loved everything you sent!

Ok so this is hideously late, since I received quite awhile ago, but I'm finally posting pics of the awesome loot I got from pinkie_poh!  I'm amazed at her ability to paint little tiny designs so accurately!  Shocked

Now on to the loot:

An awesome hand stitched notebook, with Superman comic pages interspersed throughout (I LOVE Superman!)

Five sweet double sided Superman bookmarks

A very cool set of X-men stitch markers (see what I mean about the tiny painting?  I'm totally in awe of these!)

And these amazing super hero logo cellphone charms!  I really love everything I got, but I think these are my favorites.  They're just so awesome!

pinkie_poh also included these extras, 4 lovely postcards (I really love postcards) and a beautiful hair stick.

Thanks so much for everything pinkie_poh, I really loved it all!  Grin  Sorry it took me so long to post pics though...

3  Re: Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Rd. 4 in The Swap Gallery by Maltiriel on: June 03, 2008 11:30:49 AM
I'm so sorry I didn't post earlier, but this weekend was crazy so I totally forgot (I had to go out of town for a wedding, and then my parents came to visit, so I was busy the whole time!).  Just in case anyone's curious, I got the pattern for the spider cloth here and the pattern for the cherries here.  I just modified the outside of the spider cloth so it looked more like a web instead of granny squares.

And here at long last are the photos of the cloths princesspepper sent to me (there are even more photos here, because I can never just take one...)!
First a Harry Potter cloth with a snitch on it:

I love Harry Potter, and I've been wanting one of these cloths for myself forever, so this is awesome!

And second a kitty cloth:

I also love kitties and have two of my own.  Princesspepper stalked me very well! Wink

She also included this beautiful postcard:

It even has a little stand so it can be displayed.  Very cool!

I just love the yarn the cloths are made of; they're both super soft.  I was actually wondering what brand of yarn you used, princesspepper, so I can try to get some myself.  Grin  Hopefully it's available in the US...

So anyway, this was a great swap, I loved the cloths I got, and I'm definitely in for the next round whenever that is!  Thanks so much for the cloths princesspepper, and thanks to kayrun for organizing this!

I received package 2 from the awesome xx_bumblebee_xx last week!  Thanks SOO much, I really love everything!  Here are the pictures (with more in my Flickr):

I'm totally incompetent at paper crafts and I'd really like to scrapbook my pets, so xx_bumblebee_xx sent me the most AWESOME scrapbooking kit, with all kinds of great materials and info!  The three group shots:

This includes a cat stencil, cat stickers, cat scrapbooking paper and tags, ribbon, a glue pen, bunny paw prints, a pet scrapbook tutorial, example pages of one of my own kitties, a stamp, scrapbook layout example cards, a CD with photos and scrapbook layout ideas, a really awesome scrapbook technique example book/tutorial, AND a bunch of photos of my animals with red eye removed, lighting corrected, and other things that I don't know how to do!   Shocked  This kit is just so awesome!  The best part is, I can actually understand it!  I've looked for info on scrapbooking before and just never really "got it".  The info here though is just perfect!  (also pictured are the adorable moose stuffie (I collect stuffies, so I was VERY happy to see him!) and wooden kitty magent clips, so I can paint them to look like my kitties)

There are photos of each page of the example book on my Flickr, but here's just one so I don't spam too many photos Wink :

This is just so amazingly helpful.  I'm in awe!  Shocked

And one last pic for cuteness' sake:

It's my cat, Jewel, admiring herself in these wonderful example scrapbook pages.  Grin

Thanks again, xx_bumblebee_xx, I love everything SO much, and I finally feel like I can make stab at scrapbooking and know what I'm doing!  THANK YOU!!

I received Package 1 last week from the awesome xx_bumblebee_xx, and I'm finally getting around to posing photos.  Sorry it took me so long!  I really loved everything you sent, thank you SOOOO much!!  Grin

I didn't take photos of the letter or photos she sent, cause that seemed a little odd to do, but here's everything else in numerical order (group shots so as to be less spammy, but there are some close ups on my Flickr):

2 postcards, plus 2 extras

These are just so beautiful, and very different from where I live in the middle of the desert.  I just love these postcards. xx_bumblebee_xx is from Canada, as you can tell. Wink

4 stationery items

Awesome notecards with my first initial, an adorable diary, cute pens, and stamped stationery along with the stamps so I can make more if I run out!  I just love these, and especially how they all match.  Blue is my favorite color, so they're perfect!

5 show and tell items

Very soft yarn xx_bumblebee_xx found for a project for herself, a Buffy novel (we're both in love with Buffy, and I've never read the novels, so I'm very excited!), a Nancy Drew PC game, 2 family recipes (yum, I can't wait to try them!), and several issues of xx_bumblebee_xx's school newspaper, for which she is an editor!  The really neat thing about these I think is that I never told xx_bumblebee_xx that I loved Nancy Drew books when I was little, or that both my sister and I worked on our school newspapers, so we found out some more things we have in common.

6 small things (plus a few, who's counting?)

Kitty perler bead set (I love kitties and perler beads, so it's perfect), kitty scrapbooking embellishments, a project planner which will come in VERY handy, Buffy trading cards which are quite funny (they say stuff like +2 to butt kicking Wink ), a ton of pamphlets and brochures from xx_bumblebee_xx's area, a pin for the water lock thing in her town (I can't remember what it's called and I'm not home to look, but the pin explained all about it; it's to change the level of water for boats, I believe?), cable needles for a knit-a-long we're going to do together (we both want to learn to knit cables), and a really cute bag.  I got very spoiled!  Cheesy

Thanks again for everything, xx_bumblebee_xx, I just loved everything you sent, and I'm having a great time getting to know you!

Hey guys, sorry I didn't post earlier, but I've been sick so I've been kind of out of it...  Anyway I received awesome postcards from both Marylini and tiggeret86 this past week.  Here they are, shown together (tiggeret86's is on the right, and Marylini's is on the left):

Close ups can be found here.  I'm totally stoked about both these cards, because they're just what I was hoping for (namely postcards about something different than what I know, which is southwestern US Christian traditions)!  The postcard tiggeret86 sent represents Ded Moroz or Grandfather Frost, the Russian counterpart to our Santa Claus and the one Marylini sent is a menorah for Chanukah. Thanks so much guys, I really love these cards!

And just a note about the ones from me shown so far: those are the two cards I sent showing what I think of when I think about Christmas and the holidays.  Ristras (the big strings of chiles) and luminarias are standard southwestern decorations, and lots of businesses and homes use them to decorate this time of year (though they usually use plastic/electric luminarias long term and only put up the real ones for a night).

Trocks has received what I've sent so far (I'm still working on a couple things but didn't want to make her wait for the stuff I'd finished), and she's having a very busy week, so here are the photos I took before I sent (more and larger sizes of pics as well as project details can be found on my Flickr):

Pikachu stenciled t-shirt:

Pikachu magnet:

Flippy cube thingy (outside):

And that's it! Wink

Cute polymer clay earrings:
