This is actually a yarn I have been working on for quite some time. Technically its only half done but since I officially resigned myself to realizing it won't be what I want it to be and I don't have forever to do it, I quit it. But I had two plies of what would have been a cabled yarn so I put them together.

I'm thinking about finding a nice lacy pattern since I have no intention of counting yardage on this thing!

I did make some yarns I wanted to post and I forgot until now. I made these 2 ply corriedale yarns from the Faded Forestry colorway I made.

Wow, Everything looks so good and squishable!  Grin I totally love the Medusa Supercoils, very nice.

I have a couple this week. Trying to spin a little everyday this month so here are two small yarns from the 1st and 2nd.

This one is a corespun yarn with a technicolor batt I made. Its about 34 yards but this is the best picture I have so far.

This yarn was already made but I plied it  with a dark green embroidery thread to get approx 49 yards then the thread ran out.  Shocked

I used the leftovers and made a small two ply - extra bulky!

That's it for me. I hope to have a larger selection to share next week!

whisp3rd - I love the supercoil yarn!

Its been awhile since I have had something to contribute.... or been able to remember to contribute.

This is a little different for me but I am very proud of it. Its rambouillet with mohair locks plied in between.  Grin

I finished a yarn early this week or maybe it was late last week... I don't really remember since it was the end of the business year at my job. (talk about stressful!)

I received the fiber from pmpknpunk during a fiber of the month swap. Here is the batt and the spun yarn. I haven't set the twist on this yet.

I finally got back to this thread after a long day. (Had to sneak a peek in at work  Wink )
Isamax I love the Christmas-y colored yarn and cloudlover I adore the Summer Squash batts before and after the spinning.

I don't always post for Fiber Friday but this past week I finished spinning some roving from JulieSpins on Etsy and made a finished object. (My first finished object with my handspun so "Yay" on multiple accounts.)

Here is a picture of in progress and of the completed project.

I was aiming for a hat for myself but since I was just knitting and not following a pattern of any type so it turned out too small.  Sad  Good thing I there's a kid hanging around to wear it I suppose.  Grin

Jadzy, Beautiful rovings!

RepoRebo, I love that skein. Its such a nice shade of purple and the texture reminds me of a cluster of grapes.

This week I practiced my navajo plying. The one thing I learned is that I probably treadle to fast on the ply. The is my second decent attempt and both times I ended up with a very dense yarn.

These shots are pre-setting the twist but it didn't change it much.

I purchased this roving from Knitch in Atlanta but its from a local dyer with an Etsy store called Gale's Art http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5353128. I just love her colors, this particular one is called Rose Garden.

I was so excited about Fiber Friday cause I have something to post.  Grin Then Friday came and it wasn't as great as I wanted it to be in real life... but now I'm back to post my yarn!

First, I love The Lone Tree and Tartan from Teetante. So very nice! I also really like Sunset by maiziemama.

Here is my first attempt, well wholehearted attempt at corespinning. It was quite frustrating to start but I eventually got a little rhythm going.
It was a remake of a batt I made for the July Fiber of the Month swap. I hope my swap partner liked hers. Lots of varying fibers like coopworth, mohair, merino and domestic wool. All dyed in varying shades of green. Oh yeah, lots of glitz too!

I call it Mossy (unknown yardage)

10  Newest Yarn - Soysilk/Wool in Spinning: Completed Projects by froggyfibers on: July 21, 2008 08:27:10 PM
I finally finished this soysilk/wool blend. It is the Louet colorway cared Karaoke Playful. It took a few months and some struggling with my wheel (grrrr!) but I have finally completed it.
Yay yay yay!

Long Shot:

I also picked up a book recently on natural dying. Once I move to a house I will have space to attempt natural dying safely.

Wheww! I am glad to be done with this one.
