Alphabrett received from me and I know she's super busy so since I'm here, I'm going to go ahead and post the stuff I sent to her.

First, I sent her the materials and directions for homemade laudnry soap. I made a 2 gallon batch of soap 2 months ago which cost me maybe 60 cents total and I'm just starting on the second half of it:

To go with the laundry theme, I made a set of 4 dryer balls out of stash yarn. I started using wool dryer balls in place of disposable one-time-use sheets and love that my clothes are still soft:

She said she wanted "something cute" for her garden so I decided to do garden plant markers. She told me she was going to grow tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes and that she likes owls. I broke out my polymer clay which I've never worked with except to play, really, and here's what I came up with:

I received from AlphaBrett yesterday! I'm really excited about my loot :-)

A picture of all of it:

A crochet bag perfect for toting my produce home from the local farmer's market:

a cute hairpiece! I love this:

Crochet dishcloths and a pot scrubbie:

A cute drawstring pouch in my favorite color and a cute little button pouch:

you can see them in the bigger group shot, but she also sent me a bandana, a zippered pouch, and a couple of microfiber cloths that I can use for dusting and on my swiffer. She also sent a cute journal that's filled with recipes and frugal tips. Thanks Alphabrett! I love everything!

sewingcybermom received a few days ago but must be busy so I'm gonna post what I sent Smiley

I made a set of 4 dryer balls out of yarn from my stash.

Also, she said she'd like a dishcloth, so I knit this, also out of stash yarn.

Hope you like them! Smiley

I received from sewingcybermom today. I have to say this is one of my most favorite swap items I've ever received. It's a little trash bag for my car! It's so fantastically put together and I admire her sewing skills. The few times I've tried sewing, it ended in me saying lots of bad words and then I ended up crying (I blame pregnancy hormones a bit). The inner liner is a biodegradable doggie-doo bag. How brilliant is that?! She sent me a couple and I'll be buying more as needed.

Here's a view from above:

And here's an action shot:

6  Knitted Axe Cozy :) in CHALLENGE 30 ENTRIES by PaperBag on: September 01, 2008 10:00:44 PM
So when I read about this challenge and saw the theme was cozies with irony, one cozy immediately came to mind. What needs a cozy more than a big manly axe? Well, I couldn't think of anything. So I grabbed my needles and got clicking. Here's what I came up with:

Close up:

The before shot (Yay, rusty metal)

Let me say that my inspiration for this is my love for World of Warcraft and this WoW comic:

Headline: Everyone has special talents. For example, here is Yarnmaster Graal, the High Knitter of Ogrimmar.
Orc #1: What is this? What are you giving me?
Orc #2: It's an axe cozy. You put it over your axe.
Orc #1: Yeah, I don't see that happening. Ever.

7  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap FOCR Gallery in The Swap Gallery by PaperBag on: July 06, 2008 09:05:09 PM
I have a feeling that a few people are going to be disappointed by this post. I know that lots of people had their eye on this. I received one of the things that was on my "I WANT THAT" list--- SQUEEEE! (And I hardly ever "squee")

Here it is! I got the lunch box from elvissatx

She did some super spy work and found out who I was. She saw that I like making ATCs so she included some paper for me. Isn't that sweet? Smiley

Here is my favorite piece she sent me. On the back it says "Hand marbled". I definitely need to know the technique for this because it's simply amazing.

Thanks again elvissatx! Smiley

8  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap FOCR (Signups CLOSED, Sendouts 7/2/08) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by PaperBag on: June 19, 2008 10:07:42 AM
Here's what I am putting in for the swap: Two wash/spa/dishcloths ( The green one is about 7.5" square; the pink one is about 8.5" square) as well as a crocheted ... um, I don't know what it is exactly! It could be used in the shower with soap or to scrub pots with, really. I think it's a versatile little guy.

9  Re: Disposable Camera Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by PaperBag on: May 21, 2008 04:06:20 AM
I received from ruby_soho today! Check out these photos Smiley

This is a picture of mailboxes. They look just like the box I had when I lived in Washington (she lives there), so I giggled when I saw them. How I miss WA!

Next is a picture she titled "Junk". I think it's pretty cool Smiley

A tree with shoes in it (what's up with this tree, ruby_soho? Totally awesome)

Next, a shot of downtown:

This next photo is my favorite. I might just have to get this printed out and put in a frame for the wall:

And here is the frame!

Thanks a bunch! The photos are too cool! Smiley

I added all of the photos to the photobucket account. Go have a look!

10  Re: Alphabet ATC A,B,C Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by PaperBag on: April 08, 2008 12:12:52 AM
I'd asked lunanne a few hours earlier to post the card she sent me because I couldn't find my camera/scanner in the moving boxes (Our housing complex suddenly closed down, leaving us only 24 hours to move so there was NO organization whatsoever) BUT as I was going through boxes, I found my scanner (And my camera was in the same box. SCORE!)
First, is my A card from mamaedgar. She actually looked through my wist list and incorporated a quilt there into my card. How awesome is that?!

The C card is an awesome vintage-esque card by crafty_dame. I just love it!

All three cards I received in this swap were excellent. I got a great bunch of cards! Smiley
