1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crocheted Goldfish pattern problems on: December 15, 2009 08:46:05 AM
My daughter found this cute goldfish pattern online.  It was originally written in Portuguese.  She used google translator and translated it into English.  I am trying to crochet it and am having problems understanding the tail.  I have half of it crocheted, then on row 9 it says increase reverse, 17 st to form end or tail. She does not show doing the other half of the tail and I am confused as what to do next.  Here is the link to it. http://erikatricroche.blogspot.com/2009/12/kingyo-peixinho-de-croche-oriental.html  Can someone please help me figure this out?  I wouild so appreciate it!
Thank you,
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered and hand sewn hussif (housewife) on: June 08, 2007 07:03:50 PM
This is a hussif I made to put all my sewing tools in.  Hussifs come from the Victorian Housewifes that ladies made out of silk to put their sewing tools in.  I made mine out of cotton.  It is 25" wide by 7" long.  The two outside edges fold in to meet in the middle and then the whole thing folds in half.  Very handy to have.
This is the outside:

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Fairy Wall Hanging on: April 12, 2007 05:12:38 AM
This is a wall hanging I designed from a picture of myself at the age of 7 when I was in a play at school called Rumplestiltskin.  I played a green fairy.  I hand appliqued, hand embroidered, added beads, sequins, tulle, and hand quilted this.  It was a lot of fun to make!
I also made this ATC for Quilting Arts Magazine using the picture of myself in the fairy costume.
The photo of the ATC is not really good because I had to make a picture of the picture that was in the 1000 Artist Trading Cards book.
5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Memory Wall Hanging on: April 12, 2007 05:05:57 AM
I designed, hand appliqued, hand embroidered, and hand quilted this wall hanging.  It is a special memory of mine from when I was 8 years old.  The blonde girl is my cousin, the brunette is me, and the boy is my brother who died when I was 16.  He was 16 at the time of this story I have captured in my wall hanging.  My cousin and I were selling crackers and pecans by the road in front of our house.  My brother was our only customer.  Then he drove us to the store in our old blue truck to buy candy with our money!  How many brothers would do that?  He was truly a special person and I still miss him very much even though he has been gone now for 31 years.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Post Card I made my daughter on: March 02, 2007 05:27:51 PM
I made this Post Card for my daughter who is in college.  It is her profile with things that mean stuff to her in it.
Notice the black cat with one solid blue eye.  He is blind in that eye.  We just love this old cat.  We moved across town this past summer and brought him to the new house.  He went all the way back across town to our old house.  We have brought him back many times, but he keeps going back!  He is about 6 years old and I guess he thinks that is where he belongs.  He will stay with us a few days and then go back.  There are ladies in that neighborhood that feed him.  So we don't worry about him.http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/i_love_hippogriffs/DSCN1596.jpg
