1  yay i'm making my 1st pair of socks! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by classique on: September 15, 2006 12:12:51 AM
i haven't been knitting lately (ok it's been about a year or more) because of lack of inspiration / a fear of starting a project and not finishing. but i've been wanting to learn to knit socks for a while now so i decided to take the plunge after i saw knitty's sox on 2 stix!

i'm just excited cuz now that i have an idea of how to make them i think i can do it on dpn's. also, they're small enough that i believe i am actually going to completely finish them!!!
so far i don't have any pics, i'll try to take some tomorrow to show my progress. i've been working on the 1st sock since yesterday and it's almost finished (i just have to sew the seams). i'm hoping i can continue to knit consistently for my 2nd one and not have it turn out a different size lol
i added ribbing on the top of the foot (k3, p3) because stockinette, although fast, gets pretty boring for me after a while.

eta: my sock progress so far.
here's the sock with knitting complete, finishing still to be done (the grey is the waste yarn, i will be removing it lol):

here's a better pic of the neat ribbing on the cuff.
