6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Unicorn pillow on: January 30, 2007 05:27:10 PM
Thank you all for the nice comments.  It took me a minute to figure out what "wisted"  meant but  Wink I figured it out. yay!   timpani~jax  your question about the metallic thread,  I used the embroidery thread that goes to our embroidery machine.  I did't have any DMC floss with the shine that I wanted.  I don't have much luck with metallic DMC floss either.   While Im here does anyone have any tips for preventing unwanted knots while pulling the needle/thread through the fabric?    Thanks again for all the sweet comments.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Unicorn pillow on: January 29, 2007 11:13:43 PM
It had been so long since I hand embroidered anything but I got bored one night and decided I needed a throw pillow with a unicorn on it.  So here it is.  The front fabric is a bargin I bought at wal-mart for a dollar a yard.  and the black flocked satin that was once a chair cover I bought for a dollar fifty on christmas clearance.  So here it is my Unicorn pillow.  Smiley  Thanks for looking!!

9  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Scarf Crochetalong on: January 05, 2007 05:59:48 PM
I tried this udderly silly scarf....for my sister...I was going to alter it to have a cow udder on one end and a fish tail on the other because her screen name is Moofish (long long story)...BUT I gave up after just a few rows because the color changes were killing me... Angry...may I ask what type of yarn you used???...I was working with caron simply soft and it was an udder nightmare (pun completely intended)....Boogersmileys, your's turned out lovely and I might give it another try if I can find a better yarn to work with that would make the color changes a bit easier....

Boogersmileys daughter again:
I'm pretty sure she used Red Heart  4 worsted weight
I think thats what it is.  I don't do much crocheting at all
due to the fact that I am completly terrible at it. lol
