21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Apron from a Pillow Case on: September 17, 2006 03:35:56 PM
They look fabulous, love the posket detail.

I'm really into aprons at the moment. I'm supposed to be reconstructing a man's shirt into an apron, but then I get tempted by pretty fabrics and trim and the other 101 craft projects I always seem to have on the go.  Roll Eyes
22  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: random things on: September 16, 2006 08:26:59 AM
What a collection!

You could dye the gloves black and maybe add patch badges to them.

Use the magazine to make collages, use cereal packet board as a base. Or make a simple frame from the cardboard and collage that.

If you want to use all the items in one project then I suppose collage would be the way to go and then hang it up with the string!  Wink

Oh that's gorgeous. I've just shown it to my young niece and now she wants one..."but with pictures of me in it!" Her words not mine.

She now wants to go out shopping for a ballet dress NOW! Her little tutu is at her Mom's house.  Cheesy

25  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Gave my couch a face-lift! Now on correct board! on: September 16, 2006 08:09:05 AM
Those couches look fabulous, I'm mulling over changing my couch before Christmas. It seems like such a huge task to take on though and I'm scared of it being a disaster. Any tips for a upholstery novice?  Smiley

This place has some great bedding for hawaiian and surf themed rooms.

What about using modge podge and torn paper/tissue/fibres/ribbon? Put this behind the glass so it makes a border on the inside.
Or could you glue something around the edge to make a border on the outside? Mosaic tiles, buttons, candy, beads, etc.
28  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Tattooed baby onesie on: September 12, 2006 09:40:21 AM
That looks great. I have a friend that would really appreciate a onesie like that. You have inspired me  Smiley
29  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Tie Dye Onesie on: September 12, 2006 09:36:02 AM
My friend's baby is due the end of this month. She wants some tie dye onesies and bibs.

Can anyone recommend dyes or techniques, are they wash proof and will they be ok for a newborn?

Thanks.
