1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Sparkle Pad in Anan Fashion Mag (Japan) & on HGTV's Small Space, Big Style! on: September 28, 2006 10:31:35 AM
I just realized I bought your Princess Crafts book for my youngest niece. She loved it, especially the Rapunzel hair. I loved your humorous writing style too.

Oh I've only just come across this post. I am loving your apartment. I know it will be a big hit with my niece too so I'm sending her the link. She is desperate to get her own apartment so that she can decorate it in a similar style, she just can't get the same effect in a dorm room!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: quick gift on: September 28, 2006 10:16:16 AM
I did this with some glass coasters, for my brother and sister inlaw's 1st wedding anniversary. I used pics from their wedding.

I thought they would be a good idea for grandparents or baby's first christmas too.

I love making gifts that are specific to the person. Last year I decoupaged a trinket box and small glass candleholder with design relevant to each friend, one had dragonflies, another sunflowers and another had cats.

To cover the boxes and candle holders I used strawsilk paper and then drew the designs on in gold glass relief outliner. I then used water colours to paint in details.

This year I'm making altered books/journals relevant to each friend.

By the way, I'm loving the hot chocolate recipe  Grin

They look wonderful. They would look so good all hung up.

Have you seen the STATIST tree decoration in Ikea. I got one recently to hang my jewelry on. Your eggs would hang great on one of those.

As for Grim Fandango, I've played that too and loved it.   Grin I really enjoy those type of computer games. Just playing Dreamfall:The Longest journey at the moment.

Well you could still make some bowls and put candy and other goodies in them on the table.

Cut out some large gold stars and have them dotted around the walls and maybe use gold star confetti on the table.

Oh wow, that is truly beautiful. Very delicate needlework.

I am in awe, I would never have the patience to do something like that.
